An absolute genius, IMO. His films are so different from each other, but his skilled hand (as a stylist and as a storyteller) can always be sensed.

1. Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World
2. Witness
3. Picnic at Hanging Rock
4. The Truman Show
5. Dead Poets Society-TIE-Gallipoli

Dead Poets Society. Great movie about the meaning of life. I haven't seen all of these movies however so I suppose my vote really does not mean much.

Interesting your favorite is The Mosquito Coast. I wasn't too fond of it the first time I saw it, but it's grown on me with every subsequent viewing. Definitely one of Ford's best and most complicated performances.

Allie Fox is unlike any other role that Harrison Ford has played. I fully believe he is the character whenever I watch that film. And Peter Weir did a great job as usual.

I like movies like WITNESS, MASTER AND COMMANDER and DEAD POET'S SOCIETY (though I loathed TRUMAN SHOW), but the only Peter Weir film I really love is FEARLESS, a riveting, emotional powerhouse of a film. I'm about damn tired of holding on to my LaserDisc so I can watch it in its proper aspect ratio.

The Truman Show.
Jim Carrey is amazing in this. He was robbed of an Oscar nom in 97 for his performance in this. Amazing film.
