Turns out the flash drive that I was using with my S370 was incompatible for some reason. Not sure why, since I reformatted it and everything, but I happened to get a free 2GB flash drive in a promotional package from the new Hub network (formally Discovery Kids) which I decided to try out with my player. As soon as I popped it in the back USB port, BD-Live was working beautifully. The flash drive that did not work is a SanDisk U3 Cruzer Micro. |

Hi folks. I've been noticing lately that while watching my blu ray discs that at one point in the movie there'll be a slight stuttering of video and audio for a few seconds. I have the latest firmware installed. I've read elsewhere that others who have experienced this have had USBs in the back of their units and have stopped having the problem once they remove them, but I don't have a USB in the back. Any ideas?

When I had a USB drive in the rear, I had that same problem.
Of course... If you don't have a USB drive there then your kind of unable to do the easy fix and remove it. Don't know what to tell ya. Maybe open it (it's easy to open) and see if you can clean the lens. I think I'll open mine and see about cleaning the lens because it won't play Scream 3 for some reason. Edit- Nevermind that, the blu ray drive lens is not exposed inside. The drive is a sealed unit and I'm not going to open it up. -Brian

Hi,
Had a S370 for a good while now. Amazing machine. However it developed a fault in that the drive constantly read as 'closing' even when shut. Luckily under 1 year so took it back and got a S373 (same thing apparently as the S370 just with a backlit remote) HOWEVER, experiencing major problems with this. It loves to change resolution resulting in black screens every now and again. My S370 happily worked at 1080p for just under a year, and although the S373 works fine for a while, it often results in a black screen with no picture in the end. Auto setting correctly sets the output at 1080p too. So, I think I got a faulty one here unless there is something I am missing? If anyone could offer any help, it would be much appreciated. Thanks ps. same 1080p TV, same HDMI cable, exactly the same settings at my S370. It is connected to Internet and is up to date. |

There was also another problem with this player and Avatar. What happens is the movie wouldn't resume playback when prompted with "Resume Playback", despite selecting Yes, it would just hang on a black screen. This was also fixed by changing the "BD Audio Mix" setting to "ON". What's weird is that if I turned off the internet functions of the player, most of these problems went away, but the "BD Audio Mix" setting seems to fix everything when enabled. I also have a Sony BDP-S350 from 2008, and it works perfectly and has none of these problems whatsoever.

Ah I see, problem solved then!
How do you find your PS3 for playing Blu-rays compared to the Sony S370?

Far superior. It loads discs faster, BD Live doesn't take minutes to load, and the GUI is more friendly and aesthetically pleasing. The Netflix client is also superior in every way. Videos load faster and you can even search for items. No more adding stuff to the queue using a computer!

Hi,
I have a Sony-Blu Ray player (BDP-S380) connected to my 5.1channel Sony Amp (STR KG800). I have another Media Player which reads my hard disks also connected to the Amp. My problem is the DTS-HD and Dolby decoding not happening from my Blu Ray player. The AMP always shows "PCM 48", while the files from my hard disks through media player shows the respective audio decoding like DTS/Dolby 5.1. Problem is only when I play Blu Ray on my player Can anyone help me with this. |

I've have been having a problem every once in awhile my player will stutter while playing. For a few seconds it would play in slow motion. Also my screen would turn black for a second, and turn back on like I unplugged it. I've had no problem like this until I got my sony sound system. I've already changed my hdmi cable, and it would still do this even after I've changed it. My firmware is up to date. It was fine for a few months, but when I updated my firmware this started again. Is it my player, my reciever, or a hdmi problem. Any tips.

Did this player get a VUDU firmware upgrade? I am comparing the Sams Club version of the S370, the BDP-BX37 because Sams Club list the BX37 as a VUDU enable player:
http://www.samsclub.com/sams/shop/ca..._Products|VUDU Enabled Products
If you give away your Bluray UV Codes Please Donate - Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome - Broken City - Cloud Atlas - Parker (Thanks - Highly Appreciated)

Hi - I've had the S370 since xmas time and it's been great, coupled up to my Sony KDL-40EX503.
Had to upgrade the firmware due to getting sound blips (new to me) but it was all very easy. So far, so good, images in HD stunning, especially the imax scenes in some BDs ....... |
