Does anyone know if Grindhouse will come out on Blu-ray since Dimension is the studio behind it?

Here's something about that movie I've been wondering: I know that Tarantino and Rodriguez scuffed up the film to give it that "grindhouse" quality, so wouldn't you want it on regular DVD, or even VHS, to have the worst video and audio quality available, like the grindhouse, or what they had made while producing it on computers in HD????

Dimension/Weinstein are HD-DVD only I think?
Only older Dimension releases will appear on BD until Weinstein goes neutral.

The film still very much has a beautiful print to it. The soundtrack was quite amazing too. Therefore the sound and video are not so much 'authentic' as they are an homage.

but the movies were film (tears of the sun, black hawk down, kingdom of heaven, CR for most if not all) so they can be transfered to BR

A good example would be 'The Devil's Rejects'.

It looked quite stellar on Blu-Ray in comparison to the DVD. Yes, it's grainy but boy, was it sharp!

Its bombing at the box office so far. Looks interesting but nothing i would run to the theater to see.

Remember that it is Easter weekend. I don't really know why they opened it this weekend, I'm not seeing it because until next weekend because my Mom is visiting me. Because of that I also told my friends to wait until next weekend, which they are doing.

Grindhouse was f-ing entertaining. However, unless Weinstein goes BD. You won't be seeing it on BD. You're probably looking at a late Nov early Dec 2007 release date to SD. So hopefully Universal and Weinstein goes "neutral". Lol. Won't be neutral because that will pretty much solidify HD dvd's inevitable demise.

Dimension/Weinstein have to release their movies in BD, because BD has already won the HD format battle.
If they don't bring out their movies in BD they are losing big money.
Dimension/Weinstein will release their movies in the BD format, its just a matter of time. just wait and see.

It's only a shame that Europeans are not able to see the double feature movie, both movies are released here sperately! so we have to pay twice!
that's the reason I'm not going to this movie.....

Grindhouse was good but hardly worth rewatching really...Once was enough.

I'm with the bunch who really enjoyed it and would definitely see it again. There aren't many movies out there like it. The special effects were pretty amazing and the "prevues" as they spell it in the movie were funny as hell.

I agree about the second viewing. Although I enjoyed GRINDHOUSE, did they really need 2 films of 90 minutes each to be an "homage" to the films of that period.

Wouldn't a 30 or 45-minute version of each film played out as well?
