Not from Ayngaran, nor AP International.
Relationship with Sun is still on the rocky side. Not sure who else would be intrested. I'm sure someone will record the 1080 transmission and will upload it online. This might be the only method of seeing the original Tamil version in HD.

Wow ... I can't believe that the Tamil Blu-ray for this movie still did not release
I wonder if the actual actors for any movie ever care about their movie not being released on superior home video product such as Blu-ray. I am sure one word from Rajinikanth asking for a Blu-ray will get him one and most likely released in the market Last edited by annayya; 01-09-2012 at 01:52 PM. |

Hi fellow Indian movie lovers.
The Japanese edition of Robot DVD/Blu-ray is coming out on October 3rd. According to the film distribution company here, DVD contains Japanese version, while Blu-ray deluxe package (2disc) contains both Japanese version and complete version. Here's the difference between Japanese version and complete version. It these are the same as movie releases. Japanese version is based on Hindi version. But It's heavily edited, approximately 40 minutes. For instance, Kadhal Anukkal, Boom Boom Robo Da, Kilimanjaro are completely gone, while Irumbile Oru Idhaiyam and Arima Arima are cut in half. Those editing were made for Japanese movie theaters could screen the show as many as they can. Complete version is based on Tamil version. It's exact same and no editing has be done. Oh, there's one, "the intermission" moment mignt no be there. because there isn't in the theatrical release. There are no Japanese dub version on theatrical release. And I'm not sure if those DVD/Blur-ray releases have one. But I'm 100 percent sure that there will be Hindi and Tamil languages for respective home releases. Blu-ray deluxe package contains slip case, sticker, booklet as well. https://twitter.com/robot_eiga/statu...035264/photo/1 DVD version https://twitter.com/robot_eiga/statu...259008/photo/1 |

There's a development on this home release.
The film distribution company added a little more about the audio contained in the blu-ray version. It says in Japanese; Quote:
If this is true, it's very sad. The theatrical release of complete version was indeed in tamil while the edited version was in hindi. Perhaps Sun Pictures was reluctant to sell the home release rights of tamil version in HD quality? From what I'm understanding, they haven't done to anyone. I'll post on this issue as soon as it develop. The Japanese film company said they'll announce more detail on July 20th. |

At lease we can hope that the picture quality is that good. But it seems like the Japanese company didn't hire you for this... Anyway I'll post more on this as soon as it develops. |

There are two things, good thing and bad thing.
Good thing is this title provides English subtitle. Bad thing is the source comes from Hindi, I guess... Picture quality and sound both are too weak. Last edited by raSpberRy; 07-15-2012 at 08:39 AM. |

The Japanese trailer featured Hindi audio, so it makes sense that the Japanese Blu-Ray has it too. They played the Hindi dub at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin and the Dallas International Film Festival last year. Why they are sending that version out instead of the Tamil version, I have no idea.
