Movies without "happy endings"

Hi,

I´m wondering if there are some movie´s without an happy ending or
"only the good guy wins"...

does some kind of this movies exist... ?
( i guess "Gladiator" is one of them, because he die´s at the End )

I hate this lovely candy endings,
...and if only the good guys win...

So, do you know some ?

trolls 2. i saw it on some weird channel when i was 12 or so. the good the bad and the ugly everyone of the main characters isn't necessarily good either

well, departed. of course, it was based off an asian movie (and asian cinema is very much into dark endings).

can't think of any others at this moment... seems like an awful lot of them just end up having an ending reshot when test audiences come out shellshocked from the original endings.

The only one I can think of off hand is American History X

I guess Pan's Labyrinth has a mixed ending

"SAW" , it wasn't a very happy ending for Adam or Dr. Gordon , but it was one of the greatest endings to a movie i have ever seen.

Many horror movies end with the good guy/gal being killed.

Of course, that's a "happy ending" if you are rooting for the monsters....

P.S. scragham is right about Asian cinema. I also noticed that recently Clint Eastwood seems to be ending his movies in all sorts of ways (happy ending, sad ending, thought-provoking neutral ending)....

Bridge to Tarabithia is not the usual feel-good movie that you can normally expect from Disney. I was a little surprised when watching it. Still a good movie though.

Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith and The Empire Strikes Back on the Star Wars front.

Also have to second The Fly (1986) as one of the most downbeat endings ever.
