Quote:
Confirming early retailer reports, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has officially announced the latest and hugely successful Pixar production, Toy Story for release on Blu-ray on November 2, in a two-disc BD edition and a 2-BD/DVD/Digital Copy Combo Pack. On the same date, the studio will also launch the Ultimate Toy Box 3-Movie Collection, containing all three Toy Story movies on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital copy (ten discs total). No 3D Blu-ray edition has been announced.

Special features include:

  • Accidental Toymakers: by creating the Toy Story characters, the Pixar filmmakers found themselves in the unlikely role of toy designers. Meet the toy company that took a chance on manufacturing the now iconic toys and learn of their incredible success that began with a modest number of Woody and Buzz Lightyear toys 15 years ago. (BD-exclusive)
  • Toys!: A closer look at all of Toy Story 3's beloved toys from updating the classic characters to the creation of the Sunnyside Daycare and Bonnie's Room toys.

Disney $10 coupons ftw!

If there's one with a DVD count me in for that one so I can sell the DVD to a family member

I can't wait for this movie, Pixars movies are my most anticipated blu-rays every year! I'll probably get the 4-disc set, I could care less about the gift set mostlikely since their usually over priced and the "gift" isn't very nice, I heard that the Luxo lap that came with Up was pretty poorly made, and very fragile.

Does anyone think that this won't be released in a trilogy box set, but be treated as just another Pixar movie and not as as an installment of Toy Story, ie. the artwork, spine, etc. won't be the same as Toy Story and Toy Story 2.

Don't you understand where I'm coming from?

I don't really see how the artwork for the first 2 films is all that similar anyway?

I think that's the point he was trying to make because movies and their sequels should have similar or matching artwork in my opinion.

Since they released the BDs of TS1 and TS2 rather recently, I think they'll probably have the TS3 cover be somewhat similar in layout to the others, at least for the outward-facing spine.
Forget The Evil Dead; what George Lucas has done to Star Wars since 1997 is truly "The Ultimate Experience in Grueling Terror".

I'm praying for a trilogy boxset. Come on, Disney!
Setup: Sony 32'' LCD, Sony Playstation 3, Sony BDV-E800W 5.1 Wireless Blu-ray Home Theater system.

My budding movie-review blog. Do provide comments that would help me improve.

I tought it was some sort of news back in March with the release of the first two that a box set with all three would be happening before Christmas

I understand that you didn't want to wait for the inevitable box set and now you want one. You can't have your cake and eat it too. I held off on the first two knowing there was no way they WOULDN'T release a box set and the downside to my choice is that I can't watch the first two movies on Blu until the third one is released.

I'm grabbing this Day 1, but I'm hoping for some crazy deals like there were with the other two... with sales and coupons, I got both for $16 total. Which is essentially like getting them free, since they both had movie cash for the third.

I'm hoping the 2-disc edition is identical to the 4-disc, save for the DVD and digital copy. Since I don't need those, I'd rather save a bit of $$$.

Fantastic movies, and great blus. This will be a HUGE seller.

I don't care one bit if they come in a box set or not, and I never actually said I wanted one.
