I'm sorry if I missed something but isn't this movie supposed to be released on both Blu-Ray and HDDVD this Tuesday? I don't see it listed anywhere on Blu-Ray. I really hope my only option is not just HDDVD.

Whaat? Relax guys, I was just making a joke. Simply trying to lighten up a touchy subject.

Anyway, to the OP, Paramount/Dreamworks just went HD-DVD exclusive and this movie is one of their titles. The Blu-ray edition was cancelled.

I guess Sunday's ads (tommorow) were printed early as both Best Buy and Circuit City have Blades of Glory listed for Blu-Ray bext week.

My Wal-Mart pre-order is still being honored

Placed it the day I heard the Paramount deal went down.

How is it being honored, did Walmart already get copies in?

I would have imagined they never would have shipped. That's interesting if they do ship out to stores.

Paramount said they weren't recalling Blu-Rays. And they aren't going to melt down tens of thousands of discs. Remember, they're EXTREMELY greedy.

I'm 100% sure they'll be Blades on the shelves at random stores come Tues.

Production companies have the discs made well before they are released. It's not like they're like, "OK, this title is supposed to be released next week. Let's get busy!!!"

Okay, well if somebody out there would be kind enought to pick up an extra copy for me if they see it on the shelves I would gladly pay an extra $20. This would keep me from having to buy the HDDVD version.

I wonder if releasing any copies of Blades would violate Paramount's deal with Microsoft. This may piss off Paramount's master.

Hey everyone good news well sorta.. i went into walmart 2nite to buy nip tuck season 4 on blu ray and aslo asked if they had blades of glory on blu of course and the lady sent someone to the back and sure enough he came back up from with it. she rings up nip tuck then blades boom cannot sell till 8.28 i was like wtf are you kidding me! yet Nip tuck wasnt susposed to be on shelfs till 9 4 WTF!!!!

Hardly a movie that needs to be seen in high def. Movies like this are indicative of the dry spell for all high def releases that has plagued this summer. I'm sure you'll be happy watching this one on DVD through any device that will upconvert it to 1080i or 1080p, knowing full well you're not really going to watch it that many times...

I just bought 2 copies on Ebay. The seller said in the description they were in stock. I will reply again if and when they actually arrive.

This is weird. I live in Miami and Blades of Glory is advertised for sale on Tuesday in the Sunday ads for Circuit City and Best Buy. Has anybody else noticed the same where they live?
