For those worried that the reshoots would amount to major plot changes to G.I. Joe: Retaliation, rest easy. Channing Tatum shot his scenes in a week and it all basically amounts to
[Show spoiler]Duke babysitting Roadblock's daughters at the end.

Pretty lame but there you have it. Honestly, they could have done this right from the start.

Really? You pushed the movie back almost a year for that?

Oh, yeah forgot. They are "converting" it to crappy 3d!

Yeah, I'm baffled. All they had to do was delay the film by a couple of weeks (a month at the most) in order to tack on that coda.

I guess that decision was more real than anyone could have guessed. Although, I don't get why they didn't convert it much sooner (since they had stated they didn't want to go through the expense of shooting it in 3D). After killing the marketing momentum for a film that's a sequel to a movie that made around $300 million worldwide, whoever approved all of this deserves to be fired.

I mean who's the dumbass who decided they needed to "convert" it to 3d when the film was suppose to come out a few weeks. A couple months is one thing, but a couple weeks. I'm guessing they're already in the hole so much from all the money they spent on marketing they lost.

What's incredibly sad is that, despite the horrid costume designs being public knowledge well before the first film was released, the film grossed US$302,543,074 worldwide, of which US$150,201,498 was from the United States. The sequel already had a more favorable impression from fans given the redesigns of CC and SE and some really cool action in the trailers. This movie could have easily made just as much. Now, even if it somehow manages to be a hit, it'll still underperform.

I think G.I. Joe should now push the release date to summer 2015, since the last Hobbit movie is going to come out in Summer of 2014. The anticipation for these Hobbit movies will screw the financial success of the G.I. Joe sequel in the summer of 2013.

They got cold feet from the response Battleship got, so they pushed it back to a pre-summer spot, slapped 3D on to appeal to international markets and added more Channing Tatum because test screening wanted him.

Yup im pretty sure your right,
on the survey's after the film, they asked if it needed 3D and more Duke lol of course i said NO and i thought audiences were smart enough to say no as well but once again i was proven wrong. I swear no scene in that movie required 3D

As far as I'm aware, all the test screenings said no to more Tatum, but the studio saw potential in making more money if they added him more. He had so many hit movies this year, they felt foolish not including him more. Sad truth. He's not needed in the movie anymore than he was already in it...

The rap song is cheesy, but the trailer looks good otherwise.

I plan on seeing this when it is released but thanks on the heads up about rap music being used in the trailer. I won't bother watching it now.

The other trailer was better. Still looking forward to it but this should have been released last summer.
