Thanks Fors, I'm excited about the switch. Before the SC-07 I had a Denon 2808 with Audyssey, just multi-eq not multi eq XT. It's been a couple of years now so it's hard to remember exactly how it sounded and I have since replaced the speakers. I've been thinking of trying out the Audyssey Pro Kit but have been advised by a friend from AVS who is very knowledgeable and has experience with the Pro Kit to take a wait and see approach. They only had the floor model in stock so it had to be ordered, so now I'm waiting. My Pioneer is in for repair right now as well so I don't have anything to use at the moment, the Pio should be back sometime around the end of the month. I'm going to have to buy another amp/amps as well as I only have five channels of external amplification, not sure what to get yet and need to save some money for it. I may try a couple of XPA-1's for the fronts or maybe just a UPA-2 for the surround backs. Anyway I'll be down to just five channels for awhile. I'm also excited to get rid of my POS Panasonic bdp's, I bought two of them at the same time. They have been in for repair for the same problem ( misaligned laser ) a total of five times in one year. I'm hoping the Marantz will be an improvement.

Well, it should be interesting to fnd out how Audyssey's Multi-Eq EX sounds as compared to the SC-07. What kind of Panny players do you have?

The DMP-BD60, one of them is still out for repair right now. They've had it for almost three months, that's the second time in for repair for that one and the other has been in three times. The warranty is up on both of them now and I refuse to pay to get them fixed, the next time one of them breaks it will be thrown straight in the garbage. I was going to get an Oppo like you but was offered a price that was too hard to pass up on the Marantz. My SC-07 wouldn't power on one day and I tried everything I could think of to get it going again but it was a no go. The next day my wife tried and it worked fine fine two days, then it wouldn't power on again. I let it sit for a couple of days and it worked again for three days, after that it wouldn't power on again at all. The dealer seemed to think the power switch inside had gone out. Luckily it's covered under the warranty.

Geez, when it rains, it pours.....good luck with that stuff aces! Luckily (knocking on wood right now) my old Panny BD-30 is going great (I use it for my intro-disc now) and my SC-05 has been treating me great as well.

Hey Ace You had asked how my Experience was with Audyssey thus far on my thread and I replied figured you'd missed it but to keep it short but sweet yes I love it !!!

Hi all,

Is anyone using the Marantz MM7055 Amp with the AV7005? If so what else did you consider and how do you like?

Thanks

Fellow AV7005 owners, I need a little help.

Has anyone else had any issues with "Pearl Harbor" on Blu Ray and the AV7005? I had massive audio drop outs and skipping last night (using the oppo 93), so much that I eventually took out the disc and put it in my PS3 slim. It was worse on the PS3. So anyway, I would appreciate someone else helping me do a little testing before I send any info to Marantz or oppo. If you own this disc, try to play the movie for me.

Equipment is AV7005, oppo 93, PS3 slim and Sony VPL VW-60 all via HDMI set to bitstream.

I think you'll have to wait for an AV 8005, not sure the 7005 has enough DSP power. You could always get the Pro Kit.

Disc played fine before. So I am going to assume that it is an issue with LPCM input via HDMI on the AV7005.

I just watched this one last month. Didn't have any issues. I went ahead and popped it in again and am watching it now and no issues thus far, I'm 95 min into the film. I initially tested on my Slim and am now using my Oppo BDP-80, both with the PCM Uncompressed 5.1 track.

On a side note, my XLRs I just got last Thursday are sounding a bit compressed and with tinny/sharp highs. I hope these things just need some time to burn.

Hey Red5,

Thanks for the help. I doubt I have a bad disc but I could. I am assuming that you are running both via HDMI and bitstream, correct?

I will try some other stuff, but as of right now I am stumped.
