Default WB to release non-digibooks of Willy Wonka, Falling Down, Shawshank Redemption

Quote:
Good news for Blu-ray enthusiasts who dislike Digibook cases: Warner Home Video has announced that, on November 16, it will re-release on regular Blu-ray cases three movies that were previously available in the studio's love-it-or-hate-it DigiBook packaging: Falling Down, The Shawshank Redemption and Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.

Disc contents are the same as on the respective Digibook editions; the printed materials, naturally, are not included. List price has been set at $24.98, or $9.99 less than with the fancier packaging.

I already imported Falling Down and Shawshank from the UK, so I'm all set.

Good news. I don't mind digibooks, but I rather pay a lower price as I just want the movie. Some of those digibook titles I want, but I want them for about $10 which will likely happen now.

Non-digibooks are so lame

Sorry, I couldn't help myself, I felt obligated to obnoxiously complain on the other sides thread. That is all.

I don't like digibooks which was the main reason I imported Shawshank Redemption from the UK (and it was cheaper) so this is good news to me, I'll pick up Willy Wonka in a regular case, maybe Falling Down also.

No synopsis for Big Tits Zombie.

(don't think it needs one, fellas. Pretty self explanatory.)

I love Digibooks, but hope Warner is treating the Non-books as just standard second-printings, and not trying to scapegoat any "low sales" because of the prices....
The books seem to be an incentive for getting the movie right away, but the re-releases are more like the mainstream re-releasing of GWTW without the collector-box frills--Everyone should have an option.

I love Digibooks too. I don't think it would be that hard for them to release both a Digibook and standard version. That way the consumer can decide which version they want.

I really like my digibook collection. I've been patient waiting for good sales to snag most of them, including Falling Down, Shawshank and Willy.
