An Empress and the Warriors Blu-ray has just been released (08/10/2010) in North America.

Set during the Warring States Period,the story centers on Princess Fei'er who is commanded by her dying father on the battlefield to defend their country with General Xuehu. The princess is later attacked and injured by the treacherous official Wu Ba, but is rescued by Duan Lanquan, whom she falls in love with. Faced with continued attack from outside and within, the princess must make some important decisions to ensure the survival of herself and her country.

I have the UK version...its an ok movie....the war scenes are hot though....but I was wondering which version (US or UK) is better....

Although I have not seen the UK or US versions , I would say the HK version would be the best. They never have poor video and it has 7.1 audio in all 3 choises.

I had made comparison between HK and French version before
IMO, french's PQ is much better than HK one
but it contains Mandarin and French audio tracks only
and english subtitle is not available

Here's a question...on the cover, why is Donnie Yen's name over Kelly Chen's body (and vice-versa)?

Sorry, I do not see that the French version has better PQ in those shots at all. I own the HK version of quite a few of these films, and theirs are better 80% of the time. Particularly, I recently purchased Seven Swords. Better, PQ/AQ and multi-select audio! Pretty soon, I'll be picking up the HK version of Fearless, as the U.S. release leaves a lot to be desired as far as AQ! Anytime you can opt for 7.1 in DTS Master HD and Dolby True HD, you should go for it! Across the board...

Dragon , I agree , the French is darker and the colors are off , plus it's a no brainer on the sound options , I'll stick with the HK

Short question: The US Dragon Dynasty Blu only has lossy 5.1 Mandarin.

Am I correct that this still is the best version to date?

The HK disc has this logo appearing in the corner, correct?

Also, I noticed that the HK disc has lossless Cantonese, but the "original" language seems to be mandarin for the most of the actors (this is also backed up at IMDB). I also noticed, that the lips sync quite well with the Mandarin track...
