haha yes sure is.. a lot of scenes are very ridic.. i loved it!

The b.o. numbers seemed a bit low, but ever since that nutball massacred all those people in Colorado, I'm guessing any movie with violence in it is turning people off to go into a theater.

yep tahts the exact reason the B.O. numbers were low and also this i'm sure had some impact on bringing people to the movies

Police Respond to Bomb Threats at 'Expendables 2' Theaters
Yeah, it might be time for this summer movie season to be over.

"The Expendables 2" has now had a memorable opening day for all the wrong reasons as police were sent to investigate a series of bomb threats at theaters showing the action sequel, according to Deadline.

All 200 theaters of Carmike Cinemas were "on alert" earlier today due to a bomb threat phoned in from a person claiming to represent a vendor service for the theater chain. Terrell Mayton, the Director of Marketing for Carmike Cinemas, told media outlets that the phone calls were received at "locations across the country" and all involved showings of "The Expendables 2."

Police across the nation have since searched all 200 locations and reportedly found nothing suspicious. The theaters have since re-opened, albeit with a considerable police presence.

Moviegoing has proven to be a dangerous endeavor this summer, with reports of patrons being weapons to theaters increasing upon the aftermath of last month's Aurora tragedy. Let's hope we can soon go back to a time when going to the cinema was a celebration of art and community and not a life-threatening risk

a lot of people are looking over their shoulders these days at that theaters.. its sad.. my parents went to TDKR today and my stepmom said she kept looking over her shoulders.. and that movie is 5 weeks old already.. its sucha shame

I will say (again) that it's the most Over-the-Top best 14 mins to open an ACTION Flick I've prob ever seen.



(& Yes, I Know the Opening 20-22 mins of SPR are EPIC like no other, but I'm talking about Action/Popcorn type flicks, such as EX & EX2)

Saw this today and had a blast. It was even better than the first.


I would be open to a third film, but I think they (naturally) have to go bigger for that, with all the Expendables banding together to stop some sort of massive threat. I have to wonder if that would be financially possible. The sequel goes bigger in terms of expanding the hero lineup, but a further film would have to ratchet up the antagonism instead, because I don't think you can expand the lineup much further without certain guys getting shortchanged on screen time--which was in danger of happening here.

[Show spoiler] anyone else disappointed they had no interaction? With all the action movie references and self aware humor, they couldn't have one moment for them? It would have been cool.

Dolph looks good in the behind the scenes feature for Expendables and at recent press appearances. For the film, I think they deliberately made him up look fugly.
