Has anyone ever seen this yet? Any good? Although I know absolutely nothing about this movie, just by reading the first 3 names on the cover I think I'll blind buy this. Shannon Elizabeth, Diora Baird, and Monica Keena

there's a problem if it does, as some footage had to be restored from VHS for the DVD release. Unless film materials have been located, or they release a cut version, the quality fluctuations will be terribly jarring.
Regarding the remake, its been universally panned. No surprise really. .......hmmmm......On a somewhat different note, Czar, what is all this 'Got Em!!' nonsense you persist in putting at the end of everything you write? It's very immature and irritating. I'm sick of it, browsing the boards, and seeing it all over the place. Is there actually any point to it? |

No, it actually had a theatrical run, although not a wide release.
The original is great, the sequels had drop off as they often do, but were good in their own ways. The best part about the original was the mix of a fun popcorn horror film with genuine creepiness and scares. I just hope Anchor Bay stays away from the release, compare how their dvd release looks to the one MGM uploaded on Hulu (which is still imperfect with too much of a green cutoff level one one other scene gripe) and you can see how AB butchered it with the red cutoff all the way up and barely any of the film's strong use of blues and some greens, and the black levels are warm and light and not very black (Anchor Bay tends to remove blue lighting quite a bit, I've seen it on several releases including heir recent releases of Halloween on dvd and Blu Ray, Possession, and in some scenes for their latest Halloween 4 release, to name a few). I pre-ordered the remake Blu-Ray early this month and am hoping for a good Halloween themed horror movie, it's gotten some favorable genre critic reviews so far. |
