Got a question about this movie. I ordered it from Amazon's B2G1 Free deal. I noticed something different about it.
There is a sticker covering the old UPC and the new sticker has a different UPC. Is this just something stupid or was something changed but they did not change the cover art? Old UPC - 0-1223619153-7-50 New UPC - 0-1223619153-7-80 I know when discs get changed or new versions sent out, the UPC changed. That is what I am curious about here. Anyone shed some light on this? Also, why does this movie say (on the back) 1080P High Definition * 16x9 Widescreen Version? I thought there was no WS or FS in regards to Blu? Lol, I just noticed it says on the lower left corner - 16x9 WIDESCREEN 2.35:1 Weird. |

Confusingly it does say "16x9 Widescreen 2.35.1" in the corner. My disc is definitely 16:9 (not letterbox). I hope they do come out with a new version as the PQ is not the best I've seen on Blu-ray. Movie rocks though. |

I just placed an order. It was about $15 shipped to my place in Idaho.
If it uses the same transfer as the HD-DVD did, then it's golden. Worth double dipping now IMO.

Decent for the age of the film. The track is mostly front oriented with the occasional use of the surrounds during explosions and moving vehicles. Bass is tight and refined during explosions, but don't expect it to be "blow you away" like in Live Free or Die Hard. All in all sound is pretty decent for its age and Jerry Goldsmith's score couldn't sound any better,

So yea, aged, but still lossless goodness is what I'm thinking.
What about when the theme/music comes on? Are the surrounds used then?

I started the movie from the beginning and walked around my room to observe the theme music as it came out my speakers. Most of the sound came out of the front. There was sound coming out the rears, but I had to put my ear up to the speaker to really notice it. Very faint indeed. There is a Studio Canal trailer at the beginning that sounds absolutely fantastic. You're in for a treat!
