I never got a chance to see the remake. Looks like it was one of the bigger films this summer.

No good for me, I just want the 1984 movie.
The Driver, The Mechanic, The Girl, and GTO.

I think this is a better deal for me. I have the original on DVD and have been looking to upgrade. I almost bought the combo that contained part 1 and 2 but I wasn't a fan of the second movie. I haven't seen the remake and to be honest I hate blind buying but I'm a Jackie Chan fan and like just about every movie of his, good or bad :P

Will I have to wait for the new KK to become a trilogy before I get the original KK III?
Now the real pain begins, Danny-boy.

You can't go too wrong owning either of the movies(the original being vastly superior IMO) but owning both doesn't make much sense considering they both feature the exact same storyline.

I'm happy w/the 1984 version (which holds up *very* well... and looks exceptional on blu).

I'll rent the other.

This comment doesn't make sense.

How so? The two movies tell the exact same story almost verbatim, why would you need to own both? How the two movies tell the same story is how they differ, the original being far more successful in my opinion.

I am a big fan of the original film, but was really impressed with the remake. While the stories are similar, it isn't an exact retelling. I'd recommend it.

The remake made little sense.. I take it he had trouble in Detroit or another Urban city.. But instead of taking him to CA she takes him to communist China to learn his life lessons, where personal freedom is a after thought.. Just laughable.. You need a better influence. You are going to China!! & he doesn't even learn Karate!! & he wears the Mao influenced 'we the people' slogan, red star T shirt.. Very offensive.. Flame all you want, this was a vehicle for Will Smith's son..& What better marketing tool them making it a remake of a great classic film that needed no remake.. Let's remake Aliens or Jaws Maybe Jayden will have hit puberty by then. I just hate people getting free rides based off their parents..
