Yeah, the only issue I've heard of was the small bars appearing on Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. But that's not a normal thing for a 3D BD. Just an odd random case (growing pains for a new technology if you ask me).

This might be naively wrong, but can't you just buy the 3D version and watch it in 2D if you want? Or doesn't it work like that?

I love every installment in this series, and this one was no exception. I'll be buying the 2D version on day one for sure.

Yeah, the 3D really seems like it'd be out of place in the 2D version.

But if they come out with a steelbook, I'll have no choice but to buy both. This damn movie has already taken 56 dollars of my money in 3D tickets... Why WOULDN'T I buy both BDs??

I figured this would come out on this date based on Resident Evil Apocalypse and Extinction's time frame of being released last Tuesday of December or 1st Tuesday of January. I'm also hoping for a BonusView track.

Day 1 for me
Yeah, I know. I caught it in 3D and I was like; "WHAT THE HELL WAS THE POINT?" I liked it and the 3D was cool. But, I'll probably be picking up the 2D version. I like 3D and all, but 3D needs to be kept theatrical.

Seeing as the 3D disk also has 2D, what will be the difference between the 2 disks?

Day 1 purchase for me. I loved Afterlife. Probably the 2nd best in the series behind the first. I thought it was awesome how they used "The Outsider" by A Perfect Circle near the end.

I actually ventured out to the cinemas to see this. First time since Revenge of the Sith I'd paid to see a movie (I did see one other movie in the interim - The Kingdom as a freebie). Fun film.

I found the 3D worked well on certain bits - the low ground shots showed the effect really well, and for realism, the bit where the bathroom floor tiles buckled up looked so real and to scale I felt there.

On the other hand, 3D wise, human eyes are about 3 inches apart. When they are trying to exaggerate 3D it to give the effect by probably placing your eyes feet apart to give distant objects exaggerated depth, not sure it does. Like the scenes with the plane through LA buildings some looked Thunderbirds level, maybe because of that. Your depth perception in real life really only is in effect for a few yards, not 1000s...

still trying to decide if i should get the 3d version!?
i don't have the 3d equipment yet, but if it ever becomes popular,
i don't want to end up double dipping on movies like with bluray
the 3d version also includes the regular version, so i could just purchase
it now and profit from the 3d version at a later point!?
decisions decisions
