I cant take a pic right now but the movie starts automatically. The menu is just a strip in the bottom of the screen for play movie, setup, and special features. You have to turn off the subtitles since the Japanese subs on are the default.

A more official menu pops up after the credits, albeit the aforementioned strip over a background resembling that of the blu-ray cover art.

I have to say I'm really digging the black Blu-ray case. Are they available in small quantities online? I might use a few on horror discs with black covers.

Sorry to get off topic again, but does anyone know of a yellow amaray blu-ray case with the blu-ray logo on the top? The UK company Shrieker has yellow cases, but their name is on top of the case and I'd like to keep things consistant. Anyway, I want this for the upcoming Day of the Dead Happinet. Thanks guys.

The only Blu ray box I can think of, that I actually saw in stores and that is yellow is the Blu ray edition of the french comedy: Le Mac

There is also the Shameless edition Blu Rays from UK (as you said it) but they have the name on top of the case.

There must be another french release but I don't remember.
And as a matter of fact I never found any retailers who offer some colored Blu ray cases on sale. You will probably need to buy the entire package with the movie...

Thanks for the info. Mine shipped yesterday and I selected the cheapest shipping option, as well. With the holiday next week, I am guessing I should have it around July 9th or 10th.

Slightly misleading... the menu options like play movie, special features, setup... thats all in english... the options within those menus are in Japanese... but you can still read PCM 2.0 for the track and OFF for the subs. One extra is listed in english, the other extras in.Japanese.

Yesterday was seven business days from the ship date, so hopefully I'll get it any day now.

Default fingers crossed for Happinet...

I'm glad I came across this thread. A friend of mine recently requested watching this on my new 110" screen and I only have an ancient DVD version.

I decided to go with the Happinet release since it's only $33 delivered and has extras that the Forgotten Films version doesn't. Plus I love that it comes in a black case.

Hopefully, I'll be as pleased with it as everyone else seems to be.

$33? Did you choose a more expensive shipping option, or did they raise the price?

I used the next-to cheapest option, and it was still in the $23 range. This was about a week ago. Got my disc yesterday :-)

Since I really don't feel like looking for it can someone repost the link so I can order this version.

Well I already own it. Why would I feel like looking for the link? Just Google CDJapan.

Seriously though, I'm on my phone, otherwise I would be inclined to help.

Thank you very much. That's exactly what I'm looking for. I have searched Google and could not find a company that sells multi-colored blu-ray cases.

Be careful 'though, as Amazon may sale a re-release with a regular blue case...
I don't know for sure, but you might want to be safe and wait for an auction on eBay.FR

If I ever find this Blu Ray in its original yellow case, I will think of you.

Thanks Torrente. I can get a used copy from Amazon.fr for about $13 shipped. I contacted Universal directly to see if they'll just sell me a case. Otherwise, I'll just wait. Happinet may very well have a yellow case for Day of the Dead. Now if they ever release Dawn, I'll be hunting down an orange case. :-) Thank you very much again.

When Elite first released their Laserdisc of NotLD and it was in 1.33:1, I wrote them and asked why it was not in widescreen. They wrote me back and told me they tried several mattes (1.66:1, 1.85:1, 1.75:1) and nothing looked right. The composition was odd and heads were getting cut off. The only ratio that looked right was 1.33:1 so that's what they went with.

Interesting piece of knowledge.

Thanks!
