I will probably buy both of these. I don't really like them, but they will make excellent birthday presents for my cousins. And I hope the Lion King will have a steelbook I can buy for me. And of course the PQ and AQ will be amazing, but that goes without saying.

Awesome news ! Haven't seen The Lion King since the 90s, but I doubt I'd like it any less today.

That is the one thing I do not like about blu ray. Everytime I watch a DVD it's never as good, then I realllllly want the movie to be on blu ray, and with a lot of the movies I watch, it won't be.

This is great news. I watched the DVD this past summer with my daughter, this was the first movie that I took her to & we both realized that the movie is still as entertaining as before.

I have not seen this movie in about 8 years. With anyone Growing up watching this movie is a must buy.

even though we all knew it was coming eventually.
i, like many others, have not seen The Lion King in AGES. cannot wait.

apparently, from what i've read in a few different places in the theatrical run, and in the VHS, there's a scene where the clouds spell the word "Sex"

. and that this was taken out of the DVD release. i wonder if it will sneak into the blu-ray release.

i don't know what scene it says it, i think it's a scene between Nala and Simba when they are younger, but not positive, or if it's at all true.

It's when Simba flops down on the cliff and the flowers or whatever it was flies into the sky then to Rafaki and he realizes Simba is alive.

It really said SFX but it looked like an E instead of F.

You don't notice during normal playback. The animators say it's supposed to spell sfx but it doesn't look that way.

Only a year longer to go...lol.

But it's good news to have some real confirmation on The Lion King. I've been waiting for this to come out on Blu-ray almost as much as Beauty and the Beast. Just watched the YouTube trailer in 720p, and it looks mighty good!

haha, yeah, that definitely looks like "sex" because of that 'tale' end thing on the bottom of the "F" (yeah, 'SFX' my @ss

). why in the world would they want it to say SFX anyway? lol that doesn't make much sense. seems like some people had too much free time editing before the film was done

You mean, why would Special Effects guys want it to say SFX? Hmmmm....

I've watched the trailer so many times since it was uploaded originally and also on the Prince of Persia blu-ray

Wow. The person that animated that dust is part of the "Special Effects Animation" team. I wonder why he would ever want it to say "SFX"?

It makes so much more sense for it to be "SEX", because that means we can talk about how much of a horrible company Disney is, trying to hypnotize kids. We all know how much everyone loves that.

The truth is, if you frame by frame through that scene, you can easily read "SFX" only a few frames before the screenshot shown above. Because of the follow through in the animation, some of that dust that rises further up becomes a tail on the F, forming an E. So yes, it can be read as SEX. But that most likely wasn't what was intended. Obviously, for the sake of avoiding any confusion and/or angry parents, Disney had to take it out.

It astounds me that 10-15 years later, people still find all these so-called Disney "scandals" amusing.
