There are release dates trickling in for other European countries as well, this will undoubtedly be a worldwide release. If people just keep their cool they can get it for less locally rather than importing and over-paying for a disc which will be identical in content.

There are Hong Kong versions coming out on January 20. Play-asia lists the price at 24.90 USD for each. DDDHouse and Yesasia will probably list them soon as well.

Both releases are now listed on DDDHouse. Yesasia has not listed either yet.

Does anyone know if the Japan or Hong Kong versions of Demolition Man are the original un-edited film? It's probably cheaper for me to order it from Europe, but I don't want Taco Bell replaced with Pizza Hut.
My Setup:

It's most likely the same source since WB is releasing it in almost every country on Blu-ray.

Play-Asia shipped my copy of Demolition Man today. It was around $25. The U.S. release will likely be cheaper, but probably not that much cheaper, at least initially.
I saw some screenshots on another forum. It looks like the PQ is about average for a BD, but still a huge improvement over the horrible DVD. |

I know that the US rights are held by Disney/Buena Vista for Judge Dredd. I just ordered the German version, and it looks phenomenal (though Region B locked)

Demolition Man (Japanese version) arrived today. Checked it for a short time, quality very good. The only extra on the disc is a movie trailer.
English audio available, plus director commentary soundtrack. From the looks of it, this is the "Taco Bell" original version. Looking forward to enjoying it this weekend -RD- |

So if japanese Demolition is taco bell that means warner didn´t put out same disc all over the world as usual? Will be interesting to see if bitrates differ also.
Edit: Found some info. Seems like the jap disc got advantage with "taco bell" and higher audio bitrate (not that it should matter on lossless) Video bitrate: - EU BD: 19945 Kbps - JP BD: 19954 Kbps Audio bitrate: - EU BD: 3704 Kbps - JP BD: 4298 Kbps Last edited by wesslan; 01-27-2011 at 07:34 PM. |
