Thanks Pro-B - I'd just seen your other post and was about to edit mine but you beat me to the punch!

Is the 'Don't Look Now' release part of the Studio Canal Collection (as I thought it was going to be), or is it a completely separate UK-only release?

All of these are coming in multiple territories via the Canal offshoots - Kinowelt, Optimum, etc. And they were initially announced as coming through the Canal collection. But so was Peeping Tom awhile ago, but Canal/Optimum changed their mind. So for now, yes.

Awesome! The release date is almost two months earlier than the German BR! Hope for a great transfer as especially this movie needs to look good.
Still a million bucks shy of being a millionaire...

Might be worth waiting for either hmv or amazon to list as they may be slightly cheaper...

Not a massive fan of the film (though I like it well enough), but hopefully this will be a good upgrade. My DVD (I think the most recent special edition UK Optimum release) sounds TERRIBLE. It's incredibly hard to hear any of the dialogue, and to top it off there are no subtitles included whatsoever.

I would not expect a big upgrade in sound, like The Deer Hunter the original mix isnt great.

The video probably wouldn't equal a big upgrade either. It's a very soft focus film like Burnt Offerings, which I've seen in broadcast HD (it looks nice, but yes it wasn't a big upgrade and I don't think even an extra 10 mbps up from the 14-15 of the 1080i broadcast would mean too much).

If there was the option to skip the sex scene I'd likely be gung-ho to buy this, but that scene was like a musical number in the middle of The French Connection, it disrupts the flow of the whole film.
