Fantastic! Singin' in the Rain will be an immediate purchase from me, and I'll probably check out Camelot since I've never seen it and enjoy collecting musicals.
Singin' in the Rain's 2002 restoration looked very good when embedded into That's Entertainment, so I can only imagine what this new (4K?) master will produce.

great news!
I knew "Singing...." would be coming sooner rather than later. The main title I want from Warner is "Giant", as the dvd is non-anamorphic and looks terrible. Surely they will release all the James Dean films at some point right? Last edited by Arkadin; 12-01-2010 at 11:17 AM. |

![]() Lerner & Lowe had some historically bad luck with other movie musicals besides My Fair Lady--Camelot wasn't their biggest disaster at the B.O., but it's pretty well the definition of "dreary", and is often credited as one of the coffin nails of late-60's musicals. (Still, with Warner's Ultra-remasters, we knew Singin' was when, not if.) |

i for one am glad its 2012 as 2011 looks like a pricey enough year as it is, will have to choose between wine and films (shame as they go so well together) lol

Singing in teh Rain would be day 1 for me, but I will be checking reviews before buying Baby Jane. I have the DVD and it better be a REAL upgrade for me to upgrade.

It is cool to get a classic like What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? on blu... I would love to also see Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? on Blu and also KLUTE!
Stop the Replacing of original Studio Opening / Closing logos! These are becoming endangered and should be kept intact. They are part of film history.

I hope that CBS issues My Fair Lady after all the restoration work WB had done with it but then lost the rights. And on TCM, I saw a gorgeous print of Around the World in 80 Days...WB should get that out on Blu ASAP (if they still have the rights to it). Last edited by bluskies; 12-01-2010 at 09:06 PM. |
