Holy crap Samsung LED LCD tv!!!! - Page 3 - Blu-ray Forum

interesting conversation lol. im currently looking to upgrade my 37in toshiba regza lcd tv. was thinking of sticking with an lcd as thats obv what i have, but i want the best pq quality i can get for watching sports and blu ray movies. i thought plasma suffered from motion lag and ghosting when it comes to sports? is that true?

also you guys are saying plasma is best for 3d. what if im not interested really in all the 3d jazz right now. what would be the best tv for just high definition awesomeness, watching football, and playing my 360? im looking for a 50-55 inch if that matters as well.

I'm not sure,but how does this tv look when properly calibrated and not in the "torch" mode you guys seem to hate?

Granted i have never been in a hh greg but bb and sears do not adjust their lighting. With the exception of a magnolia and only in the enclosed rooms where they can dim lighting. The ambient lighting from the store lights bleed into the so called darken area of the tv displays.

Most movie watching is done at night with most lights out or possible some backlighting behind the tv. You think that lighting in the store compares to home enviroment? Sure it does.

that is NOT TRUE
plasma is very good for sports
i have had friends who own led tv's comment how awesome my picture looks for sports
and if you aren't into 3D don't worry, the blue ray pic is awesome also

Best tv currently being made is the panasonic vt25. Out of most top 10 best tvs list 6 or more are usually plasma with the the first 4 out of 5 being plasma. Never had any problem with any motion lag. It is a non issue with plasma for the most part. LCD on the other hand it is a problem. Thats why you have 120 and 240hz to help keep up with plasma motion. I personally don't like the plastically, cartoonish, video game look of Led's. Great if your watching a cartoon, sucks if you watch movies and like to have your picture as close to reference quality.

none of the plasmas had hat realism factor like the LED had. If I have to choose between a tv that looks like I'm looking through a window and a plasma that isn't as life-like, I'm choosing the one that looks like real life.

LOL, dynamic contrast ratio is single-handedly the most MEANINGLESS spec of a television.

Find out the ANSI contrast measurements of both and you'll have a more meaninful measure of contrast.

+1 Contrast ratio is overhyped but it has some meaning behind it.
