Is there any sort of bonus or anything for playing this game on a harder difficulty? I just realized it could even be changed

While dismounting to slaughter the troll, an elder dragon attacked and frost ran right into his own doom.

Thankfully, there is a load save file feature.

Lastnight, I cleaned out a tower of evil witches only to have the quest end and the main witch (some chick's mom) NOT show up!?!? The arrow was there, pointing to the ground...no witch mom.

Gotta love Skyrim.
The game definitely seems to like killing people and things important to some of the less important quests. I've got one quest character lying dead in the street with no idea how he was killed. I figure a dragon must have swooped down and got him or something.

Speaking of dragons, anybody else notice that every time you fast travel to Winterhold, you get attacked by a dragon?

I don't think so. In Oblivion it was just to tailor it more to your difficulty preference. I'm just assuming Skyrim is the same. The game gets much easier as you level up and acquire better armor and stronger weapons. I guess the difficulty is to offset that for those more interested in a challenge than benefiting from all their hard work.

You can receive the blessing of Arkay outside the Hall of the Dead in Falkreath. So only one loading screen.

For Potion of Cure Disease, the internets say the ingredients are: Charred Skeever Hide, Hawk Feathers, Mudcrab Chitin and / or Vampire Dust.

Seems to happen a lot for me too. The good thing is you have your college members to back you up and it is easy to hide behind the pillars in the courtyard and snipe the dragons with your bow.

Of course, now i have Dragonrend so I should be able to make quick work of them

Have you been to a shrine/temple and activated the alter? You get a blessing and it removes all diseases.

3 out of 4 times in a row, I was attacked, once by 2 dragons at the same time, but I think that was part of a quest. The last 2 times, Ive arrived with out issue. Dual casting fireballs or ice thingies makes quick work of dragons. I have a crapton of magic regen (almost 300% i think) and 400 mana.

Dragonrend: is that the fire-breath shout you get from the talking dragon? If so, I've got it too, the first of the three shouts anyway, but haven't used it yet on a dragon. The dragons are pretty easy to kill: I'll snipe them from undercover of the porch roof of the village trader or wait for them to land on the uphill path at the edge of town, which they always seem to do, and snipe them from a distance.

The dragon bones are getting rediculous in that village though; and for some reason they seem to be accumulating at the college, as if the wind blows them there, while I'm away. If I couldn't walk right through them, I wouldn't even be able to get into the college anymore. Their dancing around, long after the dragons been killed, makes the place a little eerie too.

I keep a cure disease potion on me, just in case I get a particularly bad disease that won't let me finish an important fight, but so far I haven't had to use it. Any temple or shrine will remove the disease when asking its blessing, which is free, and they're fairly plentiful in Skyrim. I've got the recipe too, though I can't remember where I bought or found it. A lot of potion shops and general stores sell the cure potion, already made, and pretty cheap.

Or just become a werewolf, and you no longer need worry about diseases or poison.

It's the shout that forces the dragon to land.

I spent an hour last night creating my first set of Deadric Armor, also made it Legendary, my armor rating went from 230, to 576
When i got home that evening, I went straight to the garage and practiced my draw and SHOUT techniques as well as my roll, somersault and aim drills and made myself a promise that I would never ever be caught off-guard again.-dfinch

There are shrines all over the place. At least one in every major town, plus the ones in the Halls of the Dead.

I've happened upon several shrines in the wilderness when I had to go someplace for the first time and couldn't fast travel. Temples are more convenient to go to, as they're in the cities you're likely already going to for quests or to sell or make stuff anyway.

I just prefer the one in Falkreath because you don't have to walk into any buildings to find it. Or walk to it from a fast travel location. Doors are the bane of my existence. Every time I see one I shake my fist! I will gladly forgo seeing pots and candlesticks if it means no loading into buildings.

You playing on ps3? On my PC, the load screens are so fast, I can barely finish reading them sometimes.
