Cult Epic's next release, Radley Metzger's Lickerish Quartet (1970), has received a preliminary release date: February 22.



Synopsis:

A jaded, wealthy couple watch a blue movie in their castle home along with her adult son. The son is testy, so they go into town and watch a circus-like thrill ride. The daredevil woman in the show looks exactly like one of the women in the movie, so the man invites her to join them for a nightcap. Tensions among the family seem to rise. She stays overnight, and during her 24 hours in the castle, each of its three residents involves her in a fantasy. She, in turn, keeps asking, "Who has the gun?" Will there be violence before it's over?

Wonderful news, Pro-B. I have not gotten a chance to watch Score yet, but I'm nonetheless pleased to see more releases from Cult Epics happening.

I hope they are able to offer lossless audio on this release.

Also, I just read over at AV Maniacs that Video X Pix have acquired Metzger's "Henry Paris" hardcore films Barbara Broadcast, Naked Came the Stranger, The Opening of Misty Beethoven and The Private Afternoons of Pamela Mann and plan to remaster them in High Definition and uncut, although there is no word on whether these titles will come to Blu-ray or not. I would be excited to see The Opening of Misty Beethoven myself, as I have heard good things about that one.

You guys on the front line, keep your powder dry until you hear from the scouts. The Metzger films licensed to Image Entertainment and released on DVD in the mid-'90s were all censored U.S. versions.

Now this is odd, despite the lack of a release date, Gary Tooze of DVDBeaver seems to have gotten hold of a copy to review. Unfortunately, it looks like Cult Epics have again provided only a lossy audio track.

That's not a review, it's a plot summary, perhaps based on the theatrical release. It doesn't address print elements or transfer or censorship issues, let alone extras, soundtracks and audio quality.

That's not what that site is about. On the other hand apparently you missed the captures (for what they're worth) and the four paragraphs discussing the disc in the Comments section, because some of your concerns are addressed there.

it IS odd that there still isn't a date on the Amazon page, which will KILL sales, but hey, it is what it is. despite lacking a release date, it is showing up in some stores' backrooms, and to some reviewers (myself included )

In Gary's technical specs box, he gives a release date of 26th April, but Axel Music has it down as 21st June.

And Amazon and DVD Empire both say it's unavailable, and Cult Epics' web site is outdated...

Judging from Beaver's caps, this is a release Cult Epics should be proud of, yet it's a shame that it's allowing sales to be potentially impacted by poor PR

I know The Score did and was wondering if this one may have had one. Be nice to see more of the Cult Epics coming with them.
