Default Kurt Russell's Soldier

One of the most underated movies ever IMO. It is such a great flick. Bring on the Blu Ray!

Kurt Russell only starred in it. It's like saying Kurt Russell's TOMBSTONE. But guess what? He actually did direct it.
Would make a great companion piece to BLADE RUNNER since it is in fact a spin-off yet set in the same "universe" as it.
I doubt Warner Brothers would release it. Wait they already released Catwoman so anything is possible.

It's the same universe? Wow really? Did this take place before or after Blade Runner?

WOW!!! There's not many people who care enough about this film to know that. I'm impressed. Just to add, you also need to give Harlan Ellison's short story "Soldier from tomorrow" which was also made into an Outer Limits episode titled "Soldier" co-credit. I would also love a blu-ray of this.

You got me. I just put it after Blade Runner only because of alphabetical order. It's quite vague but I haven't watched it in a very long time.

That could hold true but Hampton Fancher or David Peoples, believe it was Fancher, wrote the script for it same as he did for Blade Runner. The trailer actually featured the Battle at Tannhauser Gate.
So in fact it's a semi-related Philip K. Dick film in the sense it shares the film "universe" as Blade Runner.

Last but not least, Kurt Russell is just damn awesome.

it's certainly isn't Grade A but it's fun to watch.

will stick with the DVD for the time being unless they really pull the stop sout with extra footage etc etc. would love to see that space battle sequence in all it's glory (since that was the reason i bought it in the first place!)

I'd buy this too. Not the greatest by any means, but the action is okay and the visuals are nice. The trash planet would be interesting in high-def.

I never realized the connection to "Blade Runner" either. Are they both based on PKD stories?

I remember going to see this in the theater fairly excited. Upon walking out though thinking 'this sucked'.
I thought it was boring
Someday we'll look back on this and it will all seem funny

IMO it's a fun movie to watch. I'd probably buy it at a $10 price point.

i love this movie. great performance by kurt russell. it bothers me when peoples complain he dont talks ,like its a reason to complain. i though he gave a pretty good performance just because of that.just body language, all kind of nuance.
it would deffinitly looks good on bluray i hope they do release it.

on a side notei have read kurt directed it? wasnt it paul w.s anderson? if not , kurt was a ghost director or what?

I may have to rewatch this now. I never realized the connection to Blade Runner. Interesting.

I'd buy it on BD if it came out.

I never realized it either, and it honestly doesn't make any sense to me.
