Would like to see an unboxing video before Tuesday morning. Hopefully someone gets an early copy.
I don't care for 3D at all. I am just fine with 2D blu-ray movies and my 2D 32" HDTV.

If you live in America, please buy American whenever possible to support our economy!

I already bought the individual releases in 2010 with slipcovers. No need to double dip.

So basically, you get REWARDED for not supporting it's original release on Bluray.

Sounds STUPID to me. Seems like the ORIGINAL release should have ALL the bells and whistles and as they get re-released, they should start taking speacial features away. NOT the other way around.

But then the companies wouldn't make as much money. I agree with you but it does benefit people like me who weren't early adopters of blu ray.

why on earth should the studio "reward" you for supporting the original release? should apple send you a free iphone 5 because you bought the first model? they want to make you pay for the movie again.

...you act like this is the first time you've ever heard of a studio re-releasing a title with additional bonus features.

Oh no, it's nothing new. Just finally starting to REALLY irritate me.

I remember buying a tv series on dvd each season it came out. And because of faithful supporters like me, they kept the seasons coming. But then, after the last season was released, they re-released the entire collection with a WHOLE NEW DISK os special features never released before.

They actually expect me to buy the entire season ALL OVER AGAIN just for ONE extra disk?

Oh HECK no.

But I was PUNISHED for being such a faithful supporter and I NEVER did get that extra disk that seemed reserved for people who refused to support this show before. If it weren't for people like me buying it every season, they may NEVER have even MADE it to the final season release.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I always just sell my season sets and go for the box. If I move fast enough and buy during a good deal I almost always make money or break even. Buffy Chosen Collection/Angel/Scrubs/Justice League/Batman,Superman Animated/Batman Beyond/Lost/Alias/Battlestar, it's with all of them. I've started selling my Office sets as the show has probably just about run its course.
It doesn't bother me as long as there IS new content and not just a new box. I loved the extra disc of retrospectives or whatever to watch that came with most of the shows above. Sometimes I'm annoyed there isn't more stuff, but I personally appreciate being about to show support of new content for things that I enjoyed so thoroughly.

With Pirates, it would frankly have been impossible to release this set a couple years ago, as Stranger Tides was only a twinkle in some producer's eye at that point in time.
Now running in 3D with the LG Cinema 3D (nominally showing 3D in 1080i per eye) 47LW6500 (up-or-down-or-side-graded from a 50" Sammy 3D Plasma) and a Benq W1070 and a 100" screen, and controlling it with a Harmony 880.

Just curious, are the 6 discs exactly the same as what is already available? Or are they different transfers, ie. DTS MA instead of LPCM?

Never before released deleted scenes. Probably from Dead Man's Chest and At World's End. And also a sneak peek of On Stranger Tides.

Anyone get the Best Buy edition yet?

I'm deciding how long I should keep it sealed. It's soooo pretty.

Honestly, I would be in the same boat as you lol. I didn't think it would look that nice. The picture looks nice. In person, probably looks grand.
