Default Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 12: The Masters

Jim Nantz Announcement

The Masters

The making of: Studio Tour

The making of: Technology

The Masters edition will go on sale in North America on March 29 and worldwide on April 1 with support of the PlayStation® Move controller. The Masters and five additional courses will also be included in the Tiger Woods PGA TOUR® 12 Collector’s Edition, developed exclusively for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system.

New features and enhancements include:

- Masters Moments: Play through memorable, historic moments as players try to measure up against some of the sport’s greatest legends.

- Tiger at the Masters: Relive each of Tiger’s four wins at the Masters by attempting to equal or beat his scores in each round of the Tournament.

- The Caddie Experience: Behind every great golfer is a trusted and reliable caddie. Players will have a caddie by their side on every swing, providing strategic advice, from shot selection to reading greens, helping them become a more successful golfer.

- The Closest Thing to Being There: For the first time ever, EA SPORTS™utilized a new state-of-the art laser scanning technology at Augusta National Golf Club to laser scan every hole featured in the game. This will provide players with the most authentic digital representation of the Tournament and Par 3 courses. Every tree, every azalea and every undulation in every green was recreated down to the smallest detail.

- Broadcast Presentation: Feel the emotion of every swing as called by the all-new commentary team of Jim Nantz and David Feherty, who headline a completely revamped TV broadcast presentation package.

- Career Mode: The all-new career mode will closely mirror the journey of an amateur golfer’s rise through the ranks and chase the title of Masters champion.

- New Players: Over 20 professional golfers to choose from, including Zach Johnson (2007 Masters Champion) and Bubba Watson (2010 Ryder Cup – Team USA).

- Championship Courses: Take on the best of the best on sixteen of the world’s most celebrated courses, including Augusta National Golf Club, Royal Melbourne Golf Club (Australia), Atlanta Athletic Club, TPC San Antonio, St Andrews Links and Pebble Beach Golf Links.

I skipped TW11 because I want to get the one that was developed with the Move in mind (instead of just an after the fact add-on). Can't wait to play Augusta though!

The more I play Tour 11 with the Move, the more I find flaws. Still great though!

I tried to figure out something to attach a real golf grip but the fact that you have to hold the trigger button while swinging makes it virtually impossible.

Default At Long Last, The Masters Come To Video Games

kotaku.com/5723457/at-long-last-the-masters-come-to-video-games

Quote:
The development time wasn't spent entirely on aesthetics, Wlodyka said. Though The Masters usually returns 72-hole totals under the U.S. Open or the British Open winner's, the course still plays in peculiar ways that EA Tiburon strove to capture.

"I remember the first time I was there. I was amazed at the depth of field, the way shots set up," Wlodyka said. "If you had a shot 110 yards away, it would look 180 yards away because of the way the trees enclosed the greens. The 13th at Augusta, the way you're hitting it with the trees in the background, Augusta can play mind tricks on you."

You can sense how deep Wlodyka has gone into Augusta National's culture when he casually mentions "the second cut" - which is the term the club prefers that announcers use, instead of "rough." Augusta's notoriously treacherous pin placements and fast greens will be another aspect of the video game course design.

"We will have tournament conditions and regular conditions" Wlodyka said. "We didn't want to put beginner players out there in tournament conditions, where you miss a putt by a foot and the ball's gone by 20 feet.

"We worked with the course superintendent over the years," Wlodyka said. "When you play it, you might look at a green and think you know where to aim. But he said, ‘You know what, you're better off over here,' and if you have it dialed in, the ball will roll perfectly there. He knows. He's been working on the course a million years."

I don't think it's too short for me, my problem is the weighting (like Stereomike already alluded too with a makeshift attachment).

Obviously this is still videogame golf, I'll just go real golfing to get my realism fix I guess

That's what the Move is for, realism. People have been saying that since 2000, I can make birdie on every hole, blah blah blah, too easy, blah blah blah...Add wind and fast green to any Golf Courses, or play on Extreme difficulty, you'll see the difference.

I've been toying with getting the Move for some time and being a fan of the Tiger Woods games, this could very well be worth getting the Move
