To revive this thread...has anyone heard any more info on an UP 3D release date?

Or even if it's coming at all?

Really looking forward to that one. Hope it's soon!

General consensus is that we'll probably see it when Finding Nemo is released on 3D Blu.

Can't wait for UP 3D. Looking forward to Ratatouille 3D also...
LOSSLESS audio... something that belongs on EVERY Blu-ray Disc. Every one. Warner and Paramount: take a lesson.

If it's not 1.5 screen widths, it's not "Home Theater" -it's TV.

I think the big question for a lot of folks here is if it will see a US release date around the same time - or if it will be handled like Bolt which didn't get a general release in the USA until long after it was widely available in Europe and other territories (Sony exclusive aside).

If the latter is the case, it seems likely that the 3D disc will be region free for importers that don't want to wait.

Disney has met the requirements of their original promise!
They have released

Beauty Beast
Chicken Little
Cars 2
Lion King
Nightmare Before Christmas
Pirates 4
Toy Story 1, 2 & 3
Tangled
Tron Legacy
Mars Needs Moms
Gnomeo and Juliet
G-Force
Bolt
Meet the Robinsons

That's 16 titles. (17 if you count Fright Night from Buena Vista!)

Next year we can expect at least Finding Nemo and Up, possibly more conversions from Disney depending on how well Beauty, Lion King, Toy Story Trilogy and Nightmare sold.

Up originally showed up in Best Buy's stock system for a few days with the same release date as the Toy Story Trilogy and Up. I'm betting they felt it was best to hold it back for the next 3D title's release.

I'm thinking they will hold it back for release alongside Pixar's Brave theatrically, or possibly at the same time as Brave's 3D home video release, or even Finding Nemo 3D's theatrical or 3D blu-ray release.

Yup and Id say Disney has been Blu-Ray 3Ds greatest studio friend. Disney could easily have released The Lion King in 2D only sold a ton and double dipped with the 3D conversion a few years later. However they gave us there most highly sought catalog in 3D right out the gate. Not to mention there conversions of The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast earsed all doubt that 3D does benefit hand drawn animation. Also Pixar's first 4 Blu-Ray 3D releases were all fantastic particularly Toy Story 3 which was the most beautiful looking home video presentation I have ever seen (Im also very vocal of my love for the movie)

Next year we have Up, Finding Nemo, John Carter, Brave all to look forward too it should be awesome

Agreed. With ~63 3d blu releases in 2011, fully 1/4 of them are Disney (or Touchstone/BV).
