I don't think it is underrated or Tim Burton's best work but I would like to see it on blu ray. I have no information to give you about a release date but Tim Burton's directorial works have a sufficient fan base that it will inevitably be released before too long.

Yes, it's a Touchstone movie, so it falls under Disney. I had hoped that Disney would release it as a tie-in to Alice in Wonderland, since it's the only other Burton title (apart from The Nightmare Before Christmas, which already had a release) Disney owns, but unfortunately that wasn't the case.
Blu-ray releases should be perfect representations of their cinema counterparts.

I'm really surprised that this film hasn't been released on BD already. Seems like most of Burton's other films have.
Even though one of my all time favorites, I still have this DVD unwrapped and unwatched. Bought it right before my 1st BD player. After I got that player, I can't stand the thought of watching it in SD, ha! Would re-buy though. |

Ed Wood's risen into my top 5 Burton films as of late - I've always liked and admired the movie for being an important piece of cinema, esp. for aspiring filmmakers like myself, but I didn't love it as much as other Burton movies for some reason. Since expanding my tastes in film, I've come to appreciate the movie a LOT more, and to have it in HD would be just splendid. If Disney can release that horrible abomination Alice in Wonderland on Blu-ray they can do the same for arguably Burton's best movie ever. Also, funny anecdote: My sister said she LOVED Alice in Wonderland so much, but when I let her borrow my Ed Wood DVD, she said, and I quote, "It's one of the worst movies I've ever seen." I love her, but we are def. not cinematically like-minded.

I'd also like to ask them about it as well as Ed Wood is my favorite movie. Maybe having enough people asking them about it will make them release the film. |

If I recall correctly, there was a long wait for this to be released on DVD (Amazon has a 2004 release date). It wouldn't surprise me if we had to wait a good bit longer.
Hopefully I am wrong. Didn't Landau win the Oscar as Legosi? They could do a tie-in. But really, who wants to watch a b/w film? Even the flying saucers looked fake.
While Sophia Loren is certainly interesting to look at and she does look good for her age now in real life, I really can't stop thinking about how there is something "trannie" about her....I think it's her skinny eyebrows, large forehead, and big hair that throws me off. It may have been an attractive style of those days, but I can't help it that she reminds me of a trannie - a good-looking one at least! - toddly6666 (review of Marriage Italian Style)

Too bad this is low priority for Disney -- maybe we'll get this for it's 20th Anniversary in 2014
