If this is true, count me in. I especially want Superman II, the original theatrical cut "Lester" version yes,i like it better than the newer Donner cut.I grew up watching the original in the theater, one of the top 5 best sequels of all time in my opnion.

I've heard the Blu-Ray for Returns wasn't very good, so I hope they can do a better one this time.

Figures, just went Blu-ray and bought Supes 1 & 2. Oh, well.... No wonder the price was so good on them.

Hmm . . . if Superman The Movie is redone with lossless and Superman Returns is redone to not look like crap, I may be in for this. Ideally I'd just get the original and Returns separately.

You will give the people of Earth an ideal to strive towards. They will race behind you. They will stumble, they will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun. In time, you will help them accomplish wonders.

This'll be good. I only own Superman Returns on Blu-ray. Never got the others, but this set may be worth the wait.

It sounds like an expensive waste of money just to get two decent movies (Superman 1 & 2) even if those two are better quality than their current blu-ray versions.

This info comes from 2006. If it were blu all of the special features will be on the same disc as the movie. Someone just took the info from the 2006 set and copied and paste. Superman returns in Dolby Digital only gives it away. Look for this release around the fall of 2012 for a tie-in to the new Superman film

Yup, I noticed that, too. Superman Returns was re-released with both lossless audio & PCM tracks.

I've got the 3 movies they've released so far, but I didn't pay all that much for them. So I'd be down for a definitive box set. If for nothing else, it'll be nice to finally get the original cut of Superman II*, as well as part 3 (not a great movie, but I love that junk yard scene...).

*I don't have a prefered cut really. There are some things I prefer from Lester's cut, and some things I prefer in the Donner cut (Brando in particular). So owning both cuts is the best way to go for me.

From the original post:
"This is what the DVD set looked like:"

I believe his point was that he's hoping the blu-ray set matches the DVD set (or at least comes close).

I thought they're gonna wait for the new movie Man of Steel. If it is indeed coming, this year will be firmly remembered in history:

Star Wars: The Complete Saga
Jurassic Park Trilogy
The Lord of the Rings: Extended Cut
Indiana Jones Anthology

Since they didn't do it when they released the original DVD collection... I don't believe it will happen until the next Superman movie comes out.

I too prefer the theatrical Superman II... and I must be one of the 5 people who actually enjoyed Superman III as well.

Superman IV was not very good... but for a set of all of them, I'd love to see an Ultimate Blu-ray collection... especially if they went back and cleaned up the old George Reeves Superman movie that was part of that set and those Max Fleischer cartoons too!
Respect the S.H.I.E.L.D.

As someone else previously posted, this set won't be released until the next film is released in 2012.

I hope when these come out that they release the movies as individuals. I only want Superman II TE out of the bunch unless there is some kind of upgrade in PQ from Superman the movie (or SR).

As long as they have no screwups that plagued the DVD release.... (Mine still has some hiccups in playback)
