From HD ROOM:

What Dreams May Come is Coming to Blu-ray

This might be a referance disk for blu ray.
One of my favorite movies ever.

Rain Man + what dreams may come = heaven

If done right, this could be to BD what The Fifth Element was to DVD.

It's one of my all-time favorites as well. It just misses my top-10. Catch me on the right day, and it's in my top-10.

Heaven can look jaw dropping if done right.
So many eye popping colours.

That said, I am more pumped about the movie itself.

I saw this in the theaters and don't remember too much aside from very colorful dreams then later darker dreams and quite depressing. I'd give it a watch again for sure.

One of the HD DVDs I have held onto. If the new lossless track is well done I might sell the HD DVD and grab the BD instead.

One has to be a lttle bit naive/open-hearted to like this movie to the fullest, which, sadly, most people are not.

They weren't dreams. You do need to watch it again. It is a great film.

Basically, "If you had to see ONE 90's hairshirt-saint Robin Williams drama...", it's a clear choice over "Bicentennial Man".

While it is a Robin Williams film, many people overlook the great cast... Cuba Gooding Jr., Annbella Sciorra, Max Von Sydow.

While maybe not in length, Dreams feels almost epic once it gets going.

This movie came out during my freshmen year in hi school! I loved it! pretty good melodramatic performance from Robin Williams.

I'm gonna check this one out again--

I remember being excited to see it when it came out in the theatres and found myself disappointed with it--and so did my wife--

never have seen it again since-- all I can remember is that it had good visuals but it was kind of depressing and (from what I remember anyway) it never had the emotional payoff that I was looking for in a film with this subject matter....

That was the film's only downfall (IMHO)... The "climax" was kind of anti-climatic. To be honest the scene where
[Show spoiler]the family was all back together at the house
was a little on the cheese side. But the final scene made up for it.

you should sell fast- it's one of the HD dvd's that's held onto value, but that will drop right away with the bd announced (currently $35 used if you can find a buyer Should more than pay for the blu.

I loved the visuals in this movie. I will agree that it didn't quite have the payoff that was expected, and it was depressing at times (thought it was probably meant that way). I gotta give the movie credit for attempting to tackle such a heavy topic. I will definitely at least rent this one.
