The 3DS isn't region locked. All 3DS games are (And all DSi enhanced DS games like Pokemon Conquest) so if the XL were to be region free it would mean the games were being made region free which would mean they would be region free for the standard 3DS too and not a reason to buy the XL.

So I got my Vita last weekend, with the $50 gift card deal at Best Buy. I had about $100 in gift cards too, so I spent $150 on it out of pocket plus the $50 gift card.

Hardware-wise, it's pretty nice. I like the dual analog sticks and they feel quite natural. I am a bit worried about breaking them though, has anyone had any trouble from significant wear on them?

So far I've bought Wipeout 2048, Hot Shots Golf and MLB 12. Seem to be fun "pick-up-and-play" type games. I enjoy Hot Shots more and more each time I play it. I also have Motorstorm RC, but I already beat the PS3 version, so that's just for random playing.

As far as the graphics go, Wipeout seems solid but the other games I've played just looked "good". Not bad, but not WOW impressive. Then I downloaded the Rayman Origins demo. IT LOOKS SO GOOD. But I already have it on PS3. Might buy it again if it gets under 20 bucks.

I wanted to try Escape Plan but the demo doesn't work. Might just buy it anyway.

Also, I kinda liked the Gravity Rush demo until the combat stuff. Is there a lot of that? If there is I might wait on it.

Oh and does anyone have F1 2011? Thoughts?

Escape plan is worth the purchase if like puzzles or silent films. Gravity Rush does have a good bit of combat in it, yes, but I got used to it quickly. If you are prone to rage quitting though... it might be a skip.

Well I posted that a week ago, and have since bought both lol. I'm almost done with Escape Plan, I like it. No way I'll ever make it through under 20 deaths though.

Haven't tried Gravity Rush yet, been playing Uncharted too. I really don't like the shooting in it, but it does look pretty good.

Stick with Uncharted and you will get used to it. Hated it at first now it feels like every game should use the same setup on the Vita.

Yeah only trophy I don't have in EP. Even once I knew what I was doing in every stage and made a go at it I was screwing up my timing and stuff enough that I was at 20 nowhere near the end The three stars one used to be hard too before they patched it so that moves didn't count. That made three stars really easy.

Ha, yeah I think I'll have a similar experience, hitting 20 really early. I decided to not even try, for now. It will remain the one trophy I am missing. I finished the game, got 3 stars (it was easy now without the gesture limit) and did all the DLC. I'm so glad the asylum dlc didn't require 3 stars, because a couple of them frustrated me a bit. Wouldn't mind if they did some more levels too in the future.

I picked up Unit 13 yesterday, but it's going in the queue behind Gravity Rush and Uncharted 3. I also ordered F1 2011 used for $15.

Next week Best Buy will have Buy 2 Get 1 Free on all games 29.99 and up. I've got about $40 in credit, might mix and match some Vita/PS3 games.

Yeah it is (I was the one who posted those sales). What happened is they said games would be half off. But they left the games on sale and then took half off the 19.99 sale price, hence 9.99. The same happened with Mortal Kombat Saturday, it was 9.99 as well.

The only Vita game on the agenda this week is Hot Shots Golf for half off tomorrow only. But right now it's at 39.99, making it 19.99 sale price, and Wal-Mart has had it for 19.99 for a month or more now.

What have the sales #'s for this been like? I've heard all this doom and gloom out there about the sales, and how PSP's are outselling it in Europe. How there's going to be a six week stretch with no new games being released (or maybe that's no new AAA games?).

How happy are you all who have a Vita with your purchase? I understand that there's a lot of brand loyalty here, and that's fine. I love my PS3 and defend it at every chance.

But I hear so little good about the Vita that I was just wondering now that there's been some time since it's released, how pleased people are with it and where the system is at this point and where it's headed.

Honestly I haven't played it in 2 months. I have nothing bad to say about it. I just dont have a reason to play it
