United Kingdom Sony UK finally see some sense? Easy A UK Blu-ray now listed for release, Feb 28th.

Easy A was coming out on Blu-ray in the UK, then it wasn't, and now it is again:

Easy A Blu-ray

Amazon UK

HMV

Base/DVD.co.uk/BlahDVD.com

Yet to appear on Play.com, Bee.com, TescoEntertainment.com, any of The Hut Group's websites or MyMemory.co.uk.

Easy A was previously included in the MyMemory.co.uk 2 for £20 promotion, but was pulled when Sony pulled the UK Blu-ray from release. Not sure if it's worth emailing MyMemory about getting Easy A re-listed as part of their 2 for £20 campaign?

Great that Sony UK had a change of heart regarding Easy A; now where the hell are all the other gazillion Blu-ray titles that have been released in multiple markets across the world but have yet to see the light of day in the UK?

No idea why on earth this was pulled in the first place. Its the sort of film that, if I saw it anywhere for £10 and under, I'd buy it, but no more than that.

I have the US import now. Easily one of my top ten of 2010. Bluray picture quality is up there with some of the best in my opinion. I prefer UK discs so message me if your interested in purchasing or trading my region free US copy.

Seriously, where is Kwai?! It's been released in pretty much every major European country except the UK.

Not going to spend £16 on it, I'd consider around £12.

They didn't release The Stepfather last year, either and it's a fair assumption they won't release the upcoming The Roommate.

Screen Gems doesn't like us very much.

Theirs actually a few titles from Sony that havent been announced for the UK, but have for the US (and other places), even though Sony also own the rights for them here.

Heres a few recent ones:

Taxi Driver
Stand By Me
Legends of the Fall [PULLED FROM SCHEDULE]
Heavy Metal
Once Upon a Time in Mexico
Big Daddy
Mr. Deeds
The Bridge on the River Kwai
In Cold Blood [PULLED FROM SCHEDULE]

They're almost as bad as Fox.

Nobody seems to like us very much. Out of all the catalog titles that are released across the world, or at least in the US, it seems like only about a quarter of them are released in the UK too.

So happy about this! (I posted about it a while back but my thread got shoved into wishlists).

Shame about the high price, they always seem to do that with comedies - it makes no sense, it's hardly a genre that massively benefits from HD. Should be £12 really...

Oh well, I'll hold out a bit longer but I can't wait to get this!
Searching for the following slipcovers, minty fresh:
Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, Charlie's Angels, Cabin In The Woods, Se7en.

strangely the blu-ray still isn't listed on any of the Hut groups sites, but is available for preorder from HMV, Play & Amazon.

You can get the US release for peanuts, from Amazon at the moment.

I'd import, but I hate the stupid slim spines. I'll just wait for a UK price drop.

What the hell is wrong with Sony UK?
First it was this issue with Easy A (fortunately they changed their minds about not releasing it on BD in the UK/Europe), but now I found out a worse fate is happening to another of their recent releases, a film I was particularly looking forward to watch on BD: Get Low.

The title is currently listed on UK online stores as DVD only, and to make things even worse the US release (also handled by Sony) is region-locked.

Why the hell is the main company behind the BD format increasing the number of DVD-only releases outside of NA?

Does anyone have an email contact for Sony Home Entertainment UK, to ask about this regrettable change of policy?

Just got this as a rental from Love Film and really, really enjoyed it. I'll definitely be getting it when I see it a bit cheaper (as I don't really need to see it again so soon... )
