Blue Crush 2 Blu-ray Blue Crush 2 Blu-ray Review Sorry the tag line was just to funny to pass up perhaps thinking we had an official Jaws release......but it's the next worse thing: Universal is returning to the formula that made Blue Crush a moderate success with the direct-to-video sequel Blue Crush 2. You'll find it in stores on Blu-ray and DVD beginning June 7. Blue Crush 2 stars a young cast led by Sasha Jackson ('One Tree Hill') and was shot entirely on location in South Africa which is home to the "perfect wave." A slew of professional surfers will also get their surf on in front of the camera. When fit bodies aren't riding waves, there's a story about a California girl trying to fulfill her mother's dream of surfing Jeffrey's Bay. Bonus features include the following: DELETED SCENES GAG REEL THE MAKING OF BLUE CRUSH 2—Dive into the world of Blue Crush 2 as the cast and crew of the film offer an inside look at the film's behind-the-scenes secrets. SURF SAFARI! FILMING IN SOUTH AFRICA—From Durban's bustling street markets to the dazzling wildlife of the African plains, Blue Crush 2 showcases the beauty of South Africa in all its diversity. The cast and crew take viewers on a very personal guided tour of this amazing location. RIPPING IT! SHOOTING THE SURF SCENES—The filmmakers reveal the intricate techniques they used to create some of the most awesome surf ever seen. They also take viewers behind the scenes to look at how the film's stars trained for the intense surfing sequences. FEATURE COMMENTARY WITH DIRECTOR MIKE ELLIOTT AND CAST Last edited by Deciazulado; 06-07-2011 at 12:11 AM. |

Everyones a critic. and the point I was making is how lame-ass movies like Blue Crush 2 get released before such classics as Jaws. Now if you can come up with one better have at it.

Then your thread title would have to be changed to "This time it's personal". Speaking of Jaws 4, Mario van Peebles needs work. Why isn't he is Blue Crush 2? Or is he? (don't care enough to look)
But you're right - instead of releasing these "direct to video", quick cash grabs - Universal should be prepping their most beloved & often requested classics for Blu-ray.

Finally, something that Universal can say sold worse on Blu than the direct-to-video American Pie sequels.

I might be walking into a bullet for this comment, but I am actually excited to get Blue Crush (original - same release date) on Blu-ray. It's one of my guilty pleasures along with North Shore, Under the Boardwalk, Thrashin', Rad, etc...

Just finished watching Blue Crush 2 and this movie was fantastic! As with most direct to video releases I feared the worst, but I think this one holds its own very well.
Picture quality was great and the DTS HD MA soundtrack puts you in the middle of the action. The production does not show any signs of low budget straight to video quality, and its highly recommended if you enjoy this kind of movies. If anyone wants to settle for an SD-viewing, l got the Digital Copy just laying around.. first PM gets it.
