Dead Snow Blu-ray Review

Did anyone pick this up, it released last week and I didn't realize it till I saw it at Best Buy today. Is this any good, I love zombie movies. LOL! I have read some decent reviews, doesn't seem to be a thread for this release unless I missed it. It was reviewed on here too.

Ummmmm....hate to break it to you, but this came out a year ago last week!

Edit: Also, to answer your question, I did like it. If you like zombie movies, I think you'll enjoy this one.

Loved this movie! Especially the last 10 minutes, lol.

Definitely worth the rental as I enjoyed it but I never forked over for it

First 45 minutes are slow, then it picks up. I think it's a great movie.

i'm a big zombie / horror / comedy fan, and thought this was god awful. i could barely finish it to be honest. definitely rent it first. it tried to be like Shaun of the Dead (which i love) but felt like a really crap rip off of that. absolutely no redeeming qualities in this "film".

I watched this a few months ago in HD on my movie package. A decent flick but not a must own; even if you are a Zombie fan. There is an element of Evil Dead, plus zombies etc...

I would watch it again but I do not know if I have to own this one; especially for the $29.99 price point I am seeing at local retailers. For sub $10 I would have to think long and hard about picking it up. To me this one is a rent first and buy later. I would not recommend a blind buy on this even if you are a zombie fan.

It's lacking the little bit of humor that even the most gruesome zombie movies must have. I love Zombieland, Shaun of the dead, the Romero movies, 28 days was OK, but this one I regret blind buying.

I completely agree with Cook and oldgame. The first half of the movie is a little slow, but the second half totally makes up for it in my opinion.

I found parts of this movie to be totally hilarious. Maybe we have a different sense of humor?

Dead Snow - 4 out of 5

Let's see, I love Zombies and I love films with Nazis in them. Put the two together and I'm doing cartwheels - set it in the snowy mountains of Norway and I'm in horror geek heaven! I don't know what it is, but all the best films seem to be foreign ones lately. This one hails from Norway and as such is subtitled. A bunch of med students snowmobile to a cabin in the mountains for a weekend of fun. Not long after they arrive a mysterious old man invites himself in for a break from the cold and begins to tell them of the history of the place where a bunch of German soldiers were garrisoned there during WWII. He warns them to be careful not to stir up the evil that dwells there. Of course they think he's a crazy old fool - until one by one they start disappearing. Besides the Nazi Zombie twist, the snowy backdrop that it's set in also adds to the film's unique feel and is visually beautiful. Let's face it, blood splattered snow makes for great contrast. There's also a terrific scene of a woman slowly returning to consciousness only to find her intestines being pulled out by said Zombies. Seriously great stuff making Dead Snow one of my top 5 favourite Zombie flicks of all time!
