Hopefully they reboot with Leon. It's been an entertaining series of movies, but I'm shocked Paul W Anderson has been able to make 5 of them.

QFT! Leon has been the driving force of most of the recent games (and the animated movies from Japan); how he has evaded the live action movies is beyond me. I just hope that they go with someone who can do him justice because Wentworth Miller as Chris didn't cut it for me.

Sienna Guillory, who played Jill Valentine in "Resident Evil: Apocalypse" and "Resident Evil: Afterlife," has revealed that she will be reprising the character in the fifth "Resident Evil" installment.

She wrote on her Twitter account: "RE:5 alert! Training begins! I aim to mostly put less in the big hole on the front of my face than comes out of the little one on my arse."

Milla Jovovich will also return for "Resident Evil 5," which is set to hit theaters on September 14th, 2012. There is no word whether Paul WS Anderson will be directing again.

Given the boost 3D probably afforded Afterlife, I can't see them eschewing it. To me, it's a perfect type of film to incorporate 3D tech.

Here are some better ideas :

1) Reboot the entire Resident Evil franchise and get rid of the awful Mila Jovovich.
2) Actually follow the storyline of the video games.

I don't think they want to take the movies too seriously.

I'm not a gamer, so I don't really care about the storylines from the games.

In fact, I saw the first one in theaters, and had no idea it was based on a game. Been a fan of the series (and MILAMILAMILA!!!!) since then.

I hope it keeps going as it has been; the films are good enough (to me). Fun, cheap entertainment, and top-notch FX to boot.

the only gasme I've played (still playing actually) is RE4, and I'm puzzled as to how the movies relate to the games. 1 & 2 i can understand, but all this post-apocalypse stuff? Didn't see any sign of that in what I know of the games.

i enjoyed Afterlife a lot, but it seem like a long episde of something, rather than a film. Hopefully 5 will sort this out a bit.

I am glad im in i hate Milla Jovovich club (respect brothers and sisters). I still think the only reason she got that role was becasue shes married to the director.

i still dont get How Paul W.S Anderson the guy who direct Event horizon and one of the few OK films derived from Games (Mortal Kombat) ruined a great opportunity with Resident Evil, the games are brilliant and cry out basically a stright to transfer and dont need too much tampering.

If he was American i would not be as angry but the fact thats he's English makes my blood boil

They weren't married until 2009.

Im sorry i dont mean to be crazy, its just when you hear hollywood stuidios are struggling and then produce films that gamers want to see and there wasted opportunities. Basically a Hollywood version of Uwe Boll

Also Wentworth Miller to me would of been a better Leon than Chris, i dont mean cause he's not built like Res 5 game Chris but really because the only similarity is that there both male.

looks like the next Resident Evil movie maybe a prequel/reboot

I hope this isnt true, I would rather see a continuation of how the last film ended.
