I got to see it tonight. I was very pleasantly surprised. I had no idea Matthew McConaughey could actually act.

You need to watch some of his older flicks like 'A Time to Kill'. This sort of reminds me of that flick.

I am hoping it is good. The wife wants to see it.

In a way since he is a lawyer in this one too. I'm hoping this at least comes close to being as good as A Time to Kill since that is one of (if not) my favorite courtroom dramas.

Might go see this Sunday. He actually went to college or was planning to, to be a lawyer but found that he'd be 28 by the time he was done with all the schooling, & didn't want to miss his 20's (at least that's what he said on Jay Leno Thurs.) He's a decent actor I think when given good material & a nice storyline. This looks it could be both.

I actually met him in 96' when he was filming AMISTAD (Director: Steven Spielberg, whom I also met on the set). He was a pretty cool guy, told him I loved his work in "Dazed & Confused". Gotta love his line as he's standing outside a skating rink I believe, where he goes "That's what I love about these high school girls, man. I get older and they stay the same age."

im giving this a 3.5/5 but ill vote a 3.. and a 3.5 is better then average on my scale with 2.5 out of 5 being average.. Ryan Phillippe did a fantastic job in this movie as well as McConaughey.. really great acting and interesting movie

Saw this last night, and I've got to say that I was pleaseantly surprised with how good it was.

Being a fan of the Michael Connelly books (and seeing how Blood Work turned out), I was a bit apprehensive about this. However, I really enjoyed the film, and like someone mentioned above, it harkens back to the days when McConaghey was in a decent flick (A Time To Kill) as opposed to the numerous rom-coms he's been turning out these last few years,

Will definately pick this up on Blu when it's available.

saw this thread and the name of the film in a few places but i imagined this B movie of Lincoln as a lawyer rofl

but decided to check out the thread for a trailer; anyway went and saw the trailer and wow looks like a great film with a solid cast i don't know how i almost let it slip by

will have to check this out

Thought this movie had great acting and a plot that kept you into the movie and wondering. Not a huge Matthew fan but really enjoyed this film. Gave it 4/5

Will be seeing this movie prob. on Weds. (my day off) --- looks good & most of the reviews here are giving it high marks. I think Matthew M. is a decent/good actor "given the right material", which this seems to be. Enough of those lame chick-flicks already! Do some serious roles, some action stuff, & watch your stock go up.

Saw this last night and enjoyed it quite a bit. Great cast, great plot, and moved quickly. It also isn't terribly predictable which makes it all the better. Matthew McConaughey is at his best when he actually acts like he did in this. This may be my new favrotie McConaughey movie.
