![]() ![]() Evangelion: 2.22 You Can (Not) Advance Blu-ray Evangelion: 2.22 You Can (Not) Advance Blu-ray Review Getting pretty close to release for this. Stoked to finally have it in my collection.. hopefully it'll include some deets for part 3. Release Date! man is it cheap too, this'll probably be the cheapest blu I've ever bought! Which is weird because usually the anime imports are amongst the most expensive. Last edited by Deciazulado; 04-17-2011 at 04:51 AM. |

They haven't stuck to that schedule at all, 1.0 hit theaters in 2007
![]() Sucks, but the only thing of 3.0 we have to look forward to is the small preview at the end. I think the real question is will this next movie be the final, as originally planned with 3.0/4.0 being packed together like ep. 25/26 in End of Evangelion....or will they space it out.
Hello Everynyan! How are you, fine thank you.

I picked up my copy today. The slip cover is terrible (Im not a fan of them anyway and dont understand why a whole thread exists for them). Its has an orange peel texture and was cut to big so its resting at a slant. I wish they would have stuck to the digipak style of the first release but oh well. The booklet it comes with is a bit more informative than 1.11's and the inner sleev artwork features the scribble design. The A/V quality is top notch so its all good in the end. The film itself is amazing and everything I wished the rebuild series to encompass when I initially read about it way back in 06. Fair warning, this film will make you go batty waiting for Q...and make sure to watch it through the credits.

On another note, why isn't there an option on the PS3 to pause the film and "set as background" any still? The film is gorgeous and there are about 10,000+ amazing desktop backgrounds (without some annoying logo on the bottom) ready to grace our PS3/computer screens.

The film itself was a perfect 5. I loved 1.11 but it definitely felt safe and familiar to me. 2.22 was vastly different from the episodes its loosely comprised of and featured whole sections that were new or complete reinterpretations. Tbh, I felt like 2.22 was so different from the series that I expected that much of a departure from maybe the 3rd or final film and not the 2nd. The prologue after the credits really shakes up thr series and forces you to question the entire meaning and placement of the rebuild series. The Quickening trailer was great as well. |

just finished watching it. the Dolby TrueHD 6.1 was amazing. very, very good use of all the channels during this movie. the animation and video are top notch. i don't know much about the story, meaning i don't understand how all of this came about but it's very entertaining. even though i've seen the first movie i still am at a loss for what got them to where they are.
not having been a long time fan i'm not sure what the religious overtones mean and still don't know what the 1st & 2nd impacts refer to. I don't even know where the "angels" come from or what they want. it would help my understanding if i know more about it. having said that, it was still a very well done movie and as i'm an audio based man the lossless 6.1 was very well done. nice cliffhanger too! can't wait for #3! ![]()

adding on to my question earlier - is there a way to set blu-ray stills from paused movies as desktop backgrounds on computers?

I would think you'd need a computer with a good AV capture card to accomplish this.
