Thanks so much Russ.
![]() Well it's used but should be in good condition. It's only when 4K get commonplace that i'll start thinking about replacing stuff maybe. But even then we'll still need new media too match it.

Ofcause i could have gone for a newer 3d capable player and also one with a much faster load time but i got this at less than half the cost of a new 4010 and it's in very good condition. Plus i get the satisfaction of them now being a match and have the opportunity of trying out denon link. Now i also have a setup very suitable for music. So this means a bit more futureproof for the day i get more interested in music listening. The analog outputs are also very good on this player.

![]() Thank you Tony. I can finally begin too see an end too all of this frantic purchasing. Only stuff i "need" now are non essential stuff like an external video processor and calibrator for my projector and a bit more sound treatment. Then i think i'll start saving up for other more grown up things.

Well that and i just wanted too move up from my previous budget components.. I was curious as too how much better i could make it all look and sound. I know people have big debates on which brands/models are the best, but really i don't think there's much change from budget brands and higher end if only you do your homework properly and read some reviews and opinions before you purchase. For example when i went from my Onkyo 607 receiver i remember being a little disappointed at how little of a change getting the newer and much more expensive receiver was. Actually the biggest change i heard were the tone of the amps..Denon is more warm than the Onkyo. No matter what you pick eventually you get used too the sound of it. I haven't tried adding seperate amps yet. So i can't talk about that. But now that i own some great components for music listening (b&w/denon) i might start building up a small SACD collection soon.

I was doing some research on the Onkyo 709. I was under the impression that it would be much better than my Denon 590. The 590 is 75w per channel. But I can't really find much info on what the Onkyo is all channels driven. And the more I read about it, the more it seems I wouldn't gain much in performance.

If you really want a real upgrade however consider getting new speakers instead. Avrs though are dirt cheap. So if you want a new toy it might be fun. Maybe a nice refurbished unit. Getting last years model isn't really missing out on much since all the major brands revise everything each year anyway and it could save you lots of cash doing so.

A 100" screen is your max right? Im thinking about getting a new screen myself. My current elite 92" has gotten a couple of nasty looking compression lines from the retract mechanism. Only really noticeable at bright scenes but still annoying. Thank you Seth.
