Smile What are the best Sci-fi blu-rays out there?

I'm a scifi fan...ONLY. I really don't care about what the academy tells me I should watch. I just watched Winter's Bone and it was HORRIBLE!..Drama is just not for me. Saying that, I need to build starting my BD scifi collection.

I need to know which are the best scifi blurays out there? Rated by quaility & extras.

I plan to buy Starman soon, 2001 and Alien Anthology. But Starman doesn't look very good when it comes to extras...

So list which are the best scifi BD's out there. thanks.

Welcome to Blu-ray.com, fellow SW fan

By Sci-fi, do you mean strictly sci-fi, or more in the lines of fantasy, like SW?

I'd get

Contact (It's more like a drama though. Don't know if you'd like that)
Sunshine
Minority Report
War of the Worlds (intentionally grainy, but audio is awesome.)
A.I.
THX-1138
Star Trek ('09) (Probably the best disc around)
Hulk (Ang Lee)
Inception
Terminator Salavtion (Not T2, as the Skynet edition is DNR'd to death!Still waiting for a "real" BD)
Back to the Future (Original)
Starship Troopers
Blade Runner
Avatar (Collector's Edition)

and of course The Compete Star Wars Saga this September!!!!

All of these disc are either reference or very good concerning PQ/AQ and extras.
When are they gonna release these movies on BD?:Crossroads (W. Hill; Steve Vai),Fun with Dick & Jane (Jim Carrey, Tea L.), Man on the Moon (Jim C.), Death Becomes Her R. Z.,Diana Krall-LiveattheMontrealJ.F., Alien Autopsy,Dangerous Lives of Alter Boys (Jodie Foster),Fierce Creatures (John Cleese, E. I., J.L.Curtis)Housesitter(Steve M., Goldie H.),Bowfinger (S. M.), Shopgirl (S. M.),OutofTowners (S.M.),Spanglish,Odd Couple 2 (Jack L., Walter M.),Wallace and Gromit-The Curse of the Were-Rabbit,

Have you seen the avatar collectors edition? is there a huge, huge difference?

Better character development exists for Grace, who I think is the best character in the film. So I think it's worth it just for that.

I would say Star Trek (2009) and Terminator Salvation are probably the 2 best for A/V overall IMO. I also thought both movies were great (Star Trek more than TS, but still enjoyed TS quite a bit).

The only sci-fi films that I think have bad transfers are:

"Dreamscape"
"Gojirra"

Just about every other one I know of has a good, great, or perfect transfer, and I think all of them have been listed already.

Yep, and the battle sequences are slightly extended.

Actually, there is one I haven't seen listed:

"The Matrix" Collection

My third-favorite franchise, all looking and sounding great, with shedloads of extras!
