Please recommend me movies having Female Sensuality and also movies having male lead charater's Stylish performance. Take for instance Nicole Kidman in Moulin Rogue (Her make up, Costume, Performance) Natalie Portman in Black Swan and Robert Deniro in Casino (The way he smokes and talks). I am obsessed and like such a lot. I ordered movie "Nine" directed by Rob Marshall last night after watching the trailer just because of the Sensual element and beautiful Cinematography even after knowing the fact that this movie has a bad transfer.
So I hope u get the idea what I am talking about so please suggest as much movies as u can and keep this thread alive as I m sure there will be many people here like me who love such genre. Thanks. Last edited by kashif; 04-16-2011 at 12:11 AM. |

Bound
AFAIK it was only released on BD in Japan but it's a very good movie and exactly what you're describing. Body Heat I'm not particularly crazy about Kathleen Turner or William Hurt but I like the film a lot and it's definitely stylish and sultry and very neo-noir.
And I have been fortunate to escape what has been called “that form of snobbery which can accept the Literature of Entertainment in the Past, but only the Literature of the Enlightenment in the Present.” - Raymond Chandler

Thanks guys I have seen unbearable lightness of being and Bound and loved them a lot but I am not talking about erotic movies in general. Moulin Rogue is PG 13 but I loved it as its more sensual than erotic. Another example is Catherine Zeta Jones in Chicago.

Jennifer Connelly in Dark City comes to mind.

This seems like a very subjective request...
So, suggestions may vary...Sensual/stylish: Phantom of the Opera Sin City The Fall (gorgeous cinematography and costume design) Bram Stoker's Dracula L.A. Confidential (Kim Basinger is stunning as Veronica Lake) Gone With the Wind and Casablanca (one word...CLASSIC) Legend (another gorgoeusly photographed film and costumes are beautiful, Mia Sara is fairytale pretty when she's a princess and exoticly sexy and dark when she's turning over to the "Dark side") The Stylish/Coolness factor: Heat (two ultimately cool actors at the top of their game) Eastern Promises (Viggo is one slick hard-a** Russian) Casino Royale (Bond, James Bond...and beautiful Eva Green) Equilibrium and The Matrix The Crow (sadly, the Japan import blu is way expensive) Untouchables Mesrine: Killer Instinct and the sequal Mesrine: Public Enemy #1 (channels a bit of Godfather vibe...)
Fun Fact: I am the same height ( 5'1'') as Carrie Fisher, Jean Harlow, Holly Hunter, Christina Ricci, Ellen Page, Emilie De Ravin, Anna Kendrick, Kristen Bell...yes great things do come in small packages :)

if you want to see really sensual and stylish films then just get into 40's film noir.
simple as that. those films cannot be touched as far as "sensual" women. try films like-- Gilda The Big Sleep The Blue Dahlia Out of the Past The Postman Always Rings Twice (1946) This Gun's For Hire Laura Notorious Leave Her To Heaven Angel Face Niagara the list could go on and on. THOSE films have without question the most sensual women and performances ever put on celluloid. classic film noir was centered around the female, and so the women's roles were often the most important. There is really no other period in motion picture history where women get such equal billing on such a sustained basis, and certainly those days are, for the most part, long gone. that fact of equality on screen is one of main things that makes those films so great.
