When it receives a release date then I'll get excited. I also hopes this gets a remaster because the 2 Disc DVD looks awful as it has plenty of artifacts, scratches, and dirt.

King Arthur: I am your king.
Woman: Well I didn't vote for you. King Arthur: You don't vote for kings. Woman: Well how'd you become king then? [Angelic music plays... ] King Arthur: The Lady of the Lake, her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water, signifying by divine providence that I, Arthur, was to carry Excalibur. THAT is why I am your king. Dennis: [interrupting] Listen, strange women lyin' in ponds distributin' swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony. I still laugh at this scene every time Last edited by HD Goofnut; 04-21-2011 at 04:24 PM. |

I hope it's not a barebones edition. I really like some of the stuff on the dvd special edition.
Now running in 3D with the LG Cinema 3D (nominally showing 3D in 1080i per eye) 47LW6500 (up-or-down-or-side-graded from a 50" Sammy 3D Plasma) and a Benq W1070 and a 100" screen, and controlling it with a Harmony 880.

Awesome, it's about time. Easily my second favorite comedy of all time after This is Spinal Tap.

I remember when I was in high school. All the nerds would go around quoting big chunks of Monty Python, imitating the voices. Nothing on this planet could be more annoying.
It's a great film, but it isn't liable to look much better than the restored DVD. The film was shot on the cheap with minimal lighting, I think on 16mm. Even in theaters, I remember it being heavy with grain and pretty soft looking. |

Not to worry, though. It's just a flesh wound.

I'll probably just stick with my DVD since it comes with The Album of the Soundtrack of the Trailer of the Film of Monty Python and the Holy Grail too.
I can't see this movie benefitting much from Blu-ray.

Snowmaker: you never know! There have been plenty of movies that I thought could NEVER look as good as they do, yet there they are:
NEW YORK RIPPER BIRD WITH THE CRYSTAL PLUMAGE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE THE ROAD WARRIOR FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE FIRE AND ICE hell, even LIFE OF BRIAN just to name a few. you know what? Let's throw in ALIEN 2: ON EARTH.. sure, the movie may still be crap, but the PQ definitely isn't! |
