thedigitalbits has revealed that Universal Studios will release this on July 26th. No other info at this time.

FINALLY!!!! Only almost a year after this movie was released in Germany. I'm glad they didn't make me wait a long time for a U.S. release

First day purchase

.....I also hope they use the German cover (original VHS cover). That cover is just fine, it doesn't need anything different.

Yes finally. I mean this has only been out for years on HD-DVD. I wonder if it's the same exact transfer and features but on blu. If so, why wait so long?

I would think it's going be the same master that was used for the HD DVD a few years ago. It did contain some mild edge enhancement because I owned it for a couple years before selling it off.

Great movie! Linda Hamilton and Pierce Brosnan are both very good in this. One of my favorite disaster movies.

Probably, it doesn't seem as if Universal would go through too much trouble to do a new transfer when they have one ready. Aside from the issue you mentioned, I would assume that the HD DVD version looked nice. As long as it does, I'm ready to buy it.

Yeah, it looked decent. I'd probably give it a 6 or 7 out of 10 for PQ.

Why do they continue to completely crap all over the covers? Daylight's BD cover is horrible and cheesy and now Dante's Peak cover is possibly worse.
