The filmmakers behind the war-on-terror drama "The Hurt Locker" are moving forward with an action thriller about the hunt for Osama bin Laden.
Director Kathryn Bigelow and screenwriter Mark Boal have had the bin Laden project in the works, and now that the al-Qaeda leader has been killed, a person close to the filmmakers said Monday that the film is more relevant than ever. With the announcement of Osama Bin Laden's death in Pakistan, uncertainty surrounds Bigelow's latest film in development about an attempt to kill the infamous al-Qaida leader. CloseThe film will center on the Black Ops pursuit of bin Laden, said the person, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the person was not authorized to talk about project's status. U.S. forces have hunted bin Laden since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks nearly 10 years ago. A team of Navy SEALs shot and killed bin Laden early Monday at a compound in Pakistan. http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/...ry?id=13513149 |

So this will be a remake or reboot of Where In The World Is Osama Ben Ladin?

Sorry, but some real-life events are just too horrific to adapt into a movie and this is one of them. The idea is just wrong on so many levels and could be considered insulting to the victims' family/friends of the terroist attacks, no matter how accuratly protrayed they are.
I think the idea of doing a movie based on the hunt for world's most wanted man is just a replusive concept. If Hollywood executives had any heart they'd say no to this idea and kill it now (pun not intended).
Ask me any question about Doctor Who and I'll know the answer.

I doubt such a movie would be well received, the timing may not be exactly a good one. They might want to wait a while before making such a movie but Hollywood is Hollywood.

![]() (Yes, I know they've said that the photos would be too contentious to release immediately, especially after the video of Saddam's hanging turned into such a big blowup mess...They're just waiting until after Al-Qaeda appoints some new middle-management flunkie to head the group, and it falls apart in mismanagement and in-fighting like the Taliban, before we see where the bullet hit. But, c'mon, where's our iconic image? Where's Lenin's body in the tomb, the tanks rolling in behind the "Everything is fine" reporter, and Saddam getting the flashlight in his mouth? It ain't over until the sailor smooches the nurse! I'm no conspiracy theorist, but boy, does that "The body was quickly buried at sea" give comfort to our radio goofballs...) |
