Default Pac-Man Themed Restaurant Coming to Illinois in 2015!

A restaurant inspired by classic game Pac-Man is set to open in Illinois in January 2015.

According to the Chicago Tribune, the 40,000-square-foot restaurant will be named Level 257, named for the level beyond Pac-Man's 256 levels of play.

It will open in Schaumburg's Woodfield Mall, in a warehouse space formerly owned by Sears. The restaurant is under development by video game publisher Namco.

Namco says that Pac-Man will celebrate its 35th anniversary at the new restaurant in May.

Did you know that the original name for Pac-Man was Puck-Man? You'd think it was because he looks like a hockey puck but it actually comes from the Japanese phrase 'Paku-Paku,' which means to flap one's mouth open and closed. They changed it because they thought Puck-Man would be too easy to vandalize, you know, like people could just scratch off the P and turn it into an F or whatever.
