I agree with what was already said, depends on the Kid, my son is a straight A Student, he doesn't even fire up his PS3 or Xbox 360 until after all homework and his reading is done, I think my Son has a very level head on his shoulders and knows very well right from wrong, and when I hear something, or he asks about something, then we discuss it, the games for his age group are just way to "kiddie" LOL, he wants Black Ops, MW3, Dragon Age 1 & 2, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, these are the fun games, plus he shuts down his systems at a set time every night, except for Friday & Saturday of course, then he can play longer.

He knows as long as his grades do not suffer, he listens to who and what he is supposed to, then all is good in game land.

MW3 does have an option to disable foul language etc in the single player mode.

The games is rated 18 by the BBFC, so it's a criminal ofence to sell the game to under 18s yet every single match I play I have screaming 12 year olds on the end of the mic

I get parents asking me the same question in work. Do you think this game is suitable for my 10/11/12/13 year old etc. And I'm thinking, well, are you blind? It clearly states 18 on the case so no, lol no it's not. Would they go out and buy an 18 rated movie for their kid?

Having said that, BF3 is only a 16 rated game (although that game isn't rated by the BBFC), yet there is equal amounts of violence and even more use of the F word in that game.

The first premium DLC for Modern Warfare 3 will be a map pack, unsurprisingly, consisting of five new maps, according to new rumours.

I also have heard about some of the BS the Kids, as well as many Adults have spouted on them mics, it really is pathetic to say the least, but my Son plays with only his small group of Friends, his older Brother, and myself, he mainly likes most games for the single player play, but obviously him and his little buddies all love Black Ops, they can play for hours just blasting Zombies LOL, or Nuke Town.

Anyways, he asked for this for Christmas and I was lucky enough to find a "Hardened Edition" so I grabbed it, I hope he likes it.

Kotaku should be pretty reliable though as they were first to "leak" all those details early in the year

Well, unfortunately, the U.S. Supreme court just ruled its illegal to ban the sale of violent video games to kids. I say unfortunately not because I want more government in our lives, but because the sad truth is that many parents are piss poor in how they raise their kids and use video games as baby sitters with no guidance or supervision whatsoever.

Too true! I know a few friends that love to let their DS/Xbox/PS3 look after their kids whilst they watch TV or do the housework.

The thing that pisses me off is the parents that blame videogames for acts of violence carried out by children!

Well, I haven't read any studies about a correlation but what I think it does do is to a degree desensitizes kids to violence. And in the wrong individual, one with a pre-existing mental condition, that might be a very bad thing.

My only big gripe with this game is there not being enough maps, at least in my opinion. I like this game and have been doing quite well really but the maps get boring.

Well I would blame that on rotation tbh. their is almost 15 Maps already? Maybe closer to 20? i feel like that alot of maps considering MW2 and Black Ops

It's the parents who blame the videogames and not themselves for freely suplying the games to their children in the first place and then letting them play unsupervised that annoy me.

I'ts not the games industry job to look after kids, there are certain films that parents would never let their children watch until they were old enough and that mindset really needs to be aplied to games.

Would anyone let their child play Heavy Rain for example?

I signed up on elite, but it states that its a free accoutn and i need to upgrade to premium service.

I still have the black thing in the hardened box with the code on it for Elite. Do i act as if im paying for it and input this code somewhere when im purchasing from PSN Store. I dont want to accidentally pay 50 bucks

Login to the elite website, not the app. It'll be under Career/Elite Summary and you'll see the invites section.

The app is garbage right now so use the website

On the back of the booklet included there's an 'Elite membership token code'.
Go to PS Store and redeem codes. Might take a few hours/days to receive your double XP and Elite titles etc. Hopefully not now that it seems to be running smoothly
