I overheard that Citizen Kane will be transferred onto Blu-ray. Anyone hear a release date for that? That would be dope to have in the collection

Seeing as how this will be coming from WB, I'd expect an elaborate special edition box set with your very own Rosebud.

Price would be within the range of anyone who could build Neptune Pool.

I would be happy with a Digi-book but WB can package it anyway they want.

It's not. The photo clearly shows "DVD."

great news about Magnificent Ambersons.
They could have a bd release of that later on; you'd have to think they prepared an hd master after all this time.
not sure how many people on here realize it has never been issued on dvd in NA.
I have the region 2 PAL dvd released by Universal.

Yeah, except for the actual movie, the other 3 disc is on DVD only. Disappointing. Looks like for me, this set is Not day one purchase but rather -wait until it gets cheap like Gone with the Wind/Wizard of Oz set.

+1. Not forking out 45.49 (which is allegedly 30% off), or anything close to that. And Warner wonders why blu-ray back catalog titles don't sell as well as they'd like. Edit: Oh never mind that was for the version that doesn't come with Ambersons. Okay, not forking out 55.99, or anything close to that.

Sixty bucks doesn't seem like a ridiculous starting point for a set like this.

The book looks pretty cool, as do the cards and there are plenty of extras.

I'm not saying I'll run out and pay that much but it looks like a pretty decent package.

Hmmm. Looks interesting. But they really couldn't put The Magnificent Ambersons on Blu-ray? They've been searching for good material for a video release for over a decade now. 480p is the best they could do?

Other than that, it looks pretty solid. The puzzle theme of the set looks reminiscent of Criterion's Mr. Arkadin set.

I can wait for a separate release of the Ambersons DVD, and I can wait or import the UK Blu w/ smaller packaging of CK.

BR.com's "Ultimate Collector's Edition" db entry shows a single Blu-Ray Disc. The entry for the "Ultimate Collector's Edition/Magificent Ambersons" shows a single Blu-Ray disc & 3 Standard DVDs. I suspect one of these entries is wrong. Probably the "Ultimate Collector's Edition" should have 2-DVDs in addition to the Blu-Ray. Looks like the Ambersons (if photo accurate) DVD is an Amazon exclusive.
