It's a good movie. Not GREAT, but good. Dont go in expecting alot and you might enjoy it.

No bikini shots as I can remember. She plays a religious friend of the main character, and is not in any 'eye-candy' scenes.

Carrie Underwood's not in the movie much, and she doesn't have scenes in a bikini. She's playing a Christian minister, so I didn't think the film would have her preaching the love of Jesus in a two-piece.

Nevertheless, the movie was surprisingly affecting and, with the film being a true story, makes it more engaging. I surf quite a bit and I pretty much understand how hard it is to stand on the board, let alone "duck-dive" with only arm.

The shark attack was very well done and you can really feel the urgency during those moments.

I'm in two minds about this movie.

Firstly, I cannot say enough good things about Marco Beltrami's score for this movie. Easily the best thing he's written since Hellboy. Moving. Original. Exciting. Inspired. Just fantastic.

After I heard it I couldn't wait to see the film, but there I heard it's all very pro-Christian this, pro-Christian that and, frankly, that's put me off a bit.

Genuinely and seriously, will I hate this movie? Or is it possible to overlook the religious aspects and take it on face value?

Surprisingly enough, the film's Christian themes are not overwrought. In fact, I don't even recall any scenes were the main character falls on her knees and starts praying. It's just so happens Hamilton and her family are Christians but it's certainly not preachy wherein "Jesus Christ will save you" stuff. I myself am a bit of a Buddhist but I never found anything wrong with anyone, especially the ones where this is film is based on, whose beliefs helps them go through what life unexpectedly throws with. Soul Surfer, as a film, worked for me regardless of whatever religion the main characters believed in.

The review is up. Wow--5.0 for movie, video, and audio!! Will still probably rent first. I'm sure there won't be much replay value in it for me.
