This is excellent news, now we just need Hudsucker Proxy/Man Who Wasn't There.

LOL. I remember about 10 years ago when the film was making it's VHS and DVD release, that the local dollar theater in town was still playing and the VHS and DVD copies were all checked out of the Hollywood Video, so I went and saw it on the big screen instead of the small screen.

Good news. This was apparently recently remastered with the supervision of Roger Deakins so it should look really good.

I don't know how much remastering it needs, considering it was the first movie that got a complete digital intermediate.

Anyway, while I hate to bring up titles that aren't released when there have just been several Coen bros. titles announced, I hope that Barton Fink, The Hudsucker Proxy, The Man Who Wasn't There and The Ladykillers (yeah, I like it) won't be that far off. Then we have all of their movies on Blu-ray. I never thought I could say that.

And of course I really hope Buena Vista doesn't screw this up.
Blu-ray releases should be perfect representations of their cinema counterparts.

I still remember the trailer we had for this on the UK DVD it didn't feature the colour corrections on one of the clips. It didn't have quite the same feel as the finished product....

It's at 1:36 on the trailer below, if I remember in the film the grass wasn't quite as lush as that. Just a fantastic film though and an amazing soundtrack.

That's precisely why it needed to be remastered. Some of these early DIs are rather poor compared to the standard today. Interestingly this was the first Hollywood movie to get a full DI, and maybe the first movie to get a "re-DI" as well?

Definitely a good movie. Though, I am not eager to put it in my collection so I hope it has a lower price tag when it arrives. Otherwise I will wait.
