Default Headshot Starring Sylvester Stallone

After flirting with films like Kane and Lynch, it looks like Wayne Kramer (Running Scared, The Cooler) finally has a new film locked down to follow up the rather disappointing Crossing Over. He’ll direct Sylvester Stallone in Headshot, a cop thriller that ranges from New York City to New Orleans. (Yep, Sly is going back to his recent Expendables stomping ground.)

THR has the info on the film, which will kick of shooting in May in Louisiana, then New York. In the film, Stallone’s character “teams with a young NYPD detective in a high-stakes investigation that leads from the dingy back alleys of New Orleans all the way to the power corridors of Washington, D.C. The unlikely duo, brought together by two vicious murders, take on all who stand in their way, and are willing to sacrifice everything to exact revenge.”

So who plays the young NYPD detective? Channing Tatum is probably busy, and he and Stallone would end up looking too much like one another, anyway. Unless they script reveals the characters to actually be father and son, in which case…. no, let’s not go there. And, jokes aside, I’ll guess that’s not really where this one is going, since the script for Headshot is by Alessandro Camon, who wrote The Messenger. That one was so well-constructed that I have to hope for a little something good out of Headshot. And by the time this comes out it will likely have been about six years since Rocky Balboa, so it’ll be time to see Stallone really act again. If you wanted more than The Expendables offered, maybe this will do the trick.

Distribution rights will be up for grabs at the European Film Market, which kicks off in Berlin on February 10, so we might hear a little more soon.

Nice, will keep an eye out on this. I really like Stallone but not a big fan of him as a director.

I'm actually looking forward to it. One of Stallone's best movies was the terribly underrated Copland, where he got to really act and it was sort of a modern day western. No real action until the shootout at the end. And it was incredibly awesome. If this movie has Stallone anyway like that, this movie is going to be great.

I don't care to see any new Stallone films unless they are one of the following:

1. Over the Top 2
2. Rhinestone 2
3. Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot 2

That's what I'm hoping too. Coplan is one of my favorite Stallone movies, and its one I've always wish he'd make another to, because he was great as the character. This has a chance to join that movie as a great double feature piece.

I would buy that double feature (hopefully). I also really hope this is good because he has done a lot of not-so-great films that give him a bad reputation. I am hopeful with this one.

Over the past few years he's been 3 for 3 with me, so I'm definitely hoping this makes it 4 for 4. Definitely keeping my eye on this one. Whoever they cast as his partner will really make or break the movie.

This news makes Milo Ventimiglia sad. He's still waiting for Stallone to make the following movies:

John Rambo
John Spartan
Ray Tango
Gabe Walker
Barney Ross
Marion Cobretti

And if a rough patch occurs... Lincoln Hawk.

If his mom from that movie is still alive, she must be taking twice the amount of hgh then Stallone.

Default Sylvester Stallone Back With Bullet To The Head...

Quote:
The 64-year-old star of such genre-defining fare as the "Rambo" series is set to star in a new action thriller, set to be jointly produced by Joel Silver's Dark Castle Entertainment, IM Global and After Dark Films.

The as-yet untitled film will be based on the graphic novel "Bullet to the Head," which focuses on a Big Easy hitman (that's what Stallone will play) and a NYC cop (casting still not announced) who team up to fight bad guys. Production will begin in Louisiana later this month.

Sung Kang, who appeared in Universal's spring hit "Fast Five," will appear in a supporting role.

As for Silver, he hasn't exactly been on a roll for Warner of late, but Stallone did have some success rebooting his action career, directing, writing and starring in Lionsgate's "The Expendables," which grossed $274.5 million worldwide two years ago on an $80 million production nut....
